Hello, I am new to this so I hope I am doing this alright.

The battery on my Fob keyless remote died last night. I replaced the battery and the remote works like it is suppose to ( unlocks the car} However, when I try to start the car it just turns over. It is like the alarm system has imobilized the car. I tried disconnecting the car battery in hopes of resetting everything but no luck. dealership is closed for the weekend.

Any suggestions/advice would be welcome.

There must be some sort of reset switch???

Help !!
Thanks John

The immobiliser should totally disable your ignition , the engine should not even turn over . I didn't think the 03 I4 had the immobiliser . Have you checked all fuses , underhood and dash panel ? Maybe the fob and key have to be reprogrmmed to the bcm ? Have you tried the other keyset ?

Is there some way to reset the alarm without having to tow the car to the dealership? it seems a little ridiculous to change a battery on the remote that one would have to tow to the dealership. There must be some simple solution to this problem one would think???

You reset the alarm if it goes off by pressing the lock button on the fob twice , your lights should flash . Pressing the unlock button will flash the lights , unlock the vehicle and allow the door to be opened without sounding the alarm .

I have set my alarm off by opening the door with the key instead of the fob which sets off the alarm and activates the immobiliser . I did the above to reset it . I never had a fob battery die but my Tib came with two sets of keys & fobs so i don't see why the other key set wouldn't continue to work .

Do you only have one set of keys ? Is your alarm not sounding but your ignition is dead (immobiliser set)? If your alarm is not sounding and the engine will turn over with the key but not fire then i think you have an issue a dealer has to look at . I agree , it seems rediculous that you can't just change a fob battery and expect it to work .
