Hey all,

Just have a question re. those annoying three bolts that you're meant to fasten your child seat to. I don't plan on having any kids for a good long while and those bolts have been the bane of my life for the last 10 months that I've had the car. Boot space is already limited (I have a lot of musical equipment to drive around) without those bolts taking up room and limiting space. Also on a couple of occasions I've had heavy cardboard boxes in the boot that have ended up with a hole in them when they slid around and hit the bolts. And just yesterday my friend injured his hand while putting in a heavy bass amp on those bolts.

I'm totally sick of having them there and so I was wondering if anyone has removed these bolts before? Are they required to be there or like something will fall apart or something? Can I just take em off? Is it hard to do? How do I do it? Please help! My Getz is a MY09 1.6 5dr.

Thanks,
David

You can remove them and nothing will fall apart.

Just use proper wrench size and unscrew them. I suggest applying something like heavy duty tape (dict tape) to the hole, in order to protect the threads and probably any moisture that may come in from the holes. Store removed bolts in safe place for use when needed or to replace them when selling the car.
