im not being unsupportive, i never told you not to do it, i never said its a waste of time or such things..i just said i dont believe u will go turbo. going turbo involve more than just slapping a turbo...besides all the fabrication...meaning time and money..it also requires a tune for the ECU, have u decided which route you gonna take?

btw i believe the guy who did the turbo must be twice ur age or maybe a little less....but its for sure he is not a kid neither younger than what you are, judging by the movie you did on youtube.

also i'll stop now because i dont want you to think that im hating....all im doing is giving you some advice.

I haven't done my headers and exhaust yet entirely because I do plan on going turbo down the road (knowing exactly what I'm getting into, believe me), and know that doing them now is a waste. Just for what it's worth. My next expensive upgrade is the coilovers and that's about it, beyond perhaps a disc rotor swap for the rear drums before the turbo goes in.

And good luck figuring out how to tune the 08-09 ECUs.... I've been waiting for more than a year on PowerChip and they say they still haven't figured it out. They probably never will.

im following the kid on this forum that did a turbo. and he has a 2.5 exhaust. essentially the smalled the exhaust the faster the turbo spools. for a 4cylinder turbo 2.5 is pretty ideal. idk who told u differently.

This is wrong. The bigger the exhaust the faster the turbo spools, to a point (that point is much larger than 2.5) The smaller the exhaust the greater the backpressure. You want the best airflow to spool the turbo the fastest and most efficiently. Backpressure and smaller exhausts prevent maximum airflow. Maybe Damien (guy with the turbo I assume you are talking about) has a 2.5 out, but that doesn't mean that it's ideal or is right.

No turbo for me, big upgrades like that go to my 93mustang w351 bore 408, just little bolt-ons for the accent, So I guess I will do 2.25 from the KFX-header back.

For those who are staying naturally aspirated u might wanna keep your cat or some kinda backpressure because u loose torque. U will gaiun hp but not much.

I'm not sure what muffler I'll pick but I plan on getting one to help with backpressure no glasspack or straight-through design not on my DD.

ur really wrong. and what i ment is a smaller exhaust housing. also a smaller downpipe. sigh. no sense even arguing. you remind me of my friend natish. with a 4.5 inch turbo back exhaust on his supra turbo. its slow as **** for that reason. the turbo dosent spool ideally. so sad. w/e

Edited for spelling and grammar. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

LOL, you remind me of someone who thinks they have something good to contribute to everything.
Arguing is fine, as long as there are facts to back up the argument, not just opinions.
No need to be rude to me.

After looking into it some more I can admit I am wrong. I had always heard that with turbo, the bigger exhaust the better; and it made sense to me since the best exhaust system is no exhaust system (which is effectively an infinite-sized pipe). But after reading more about it, I guess the 2.5 may be good for your engine.

BTW, I wish I had a Supra Turbo.

You really need to get your facts straight before you make yourself look like more of an idiot. Just by what you said, it's obvious you don't know much about turbo. If you did, you wouldn't waste money on getting a 2.5" exhaust right now. And also, 2.5" exhaust on a small NA motor is just silly.

I'm a MKIV Supra turbo owner here. Your buddy has a 4.5" turbo back exhaust you say. I'm curious, what are the specs of this car you're talking about? Did you just pull that number out of your **** or something? I don't think I know anyone that owns a Supra that runs a 4.5" turbo back exhaust. If it really does have an exhaust that big, that thing better be running a huge single turbo in excess of 1000 horsepower to the wheels. And you're going to call that slow? You don't make sense whatsoever. Stop fooling yourself.

he has a 1990 supra single turbo with top mount intercooler. he got if for about 4k? it runs like ****. someone did a swap with the apparent (original engine). he put a 4.5 FULL EXHAUST on it. the whole piping is 4.5. Not just the muffler. Its all straight pipe, no cat, then goes thru a weird straight thru muffler. I can show u pics. I mean it sounds good I guess, but its immensely slow. it dosent even suck u back in the seat. My friends stock cobra 1996 womped on it. so did the vr4 (but thats an 10.5 1/4 runner) 15g's babyyy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . umm and I work on cars alot sir. And im almost possitive 2.5 will fine for my application. Like you guys, I'm not looking to gain ponies. Im getting ready for a turbo install, and getting the little things out of the way matter most to me. Sorry, maybe I do things assbackwards but hey w/e. I'll get you pics of the supra.
