Well last week I replaced my battery after 22,000 miles and was going to take my Azera back to get the hightlights checked out because they dim every now and then with the air and wippers are on. I have been watching to see if my lights dim after the battery was replaced last week and guess what. No dimming headlights. Maybe the dealer fixed the harness or something that holds the battery in place because the lights haven't dimmed in over a week.

I will continue to watch it but I think the problem has been solved. Now if I can just get rid of the clunk.

Thanks Shawn,

I think buy the way it looks under my hood that is what the dealer has done. Currently I have no problem with the headlights as they are operating fine. If that is all it took why couldn't the dealer just have gone ahead and fixed the problem without hooking it up to a computer and wanting to mechanic to drive it home for a week to see if he could see the problem? The dealer gets the money from Hyundai when there is a TSB issued. So what is the big deal?

Just a whole lot of running around for no reason. Shawn do you work at a Hyundai dealership? Since you have replaced the cable you must know something about the other issues that the Azera has had in the past. Suspension, crack in the dash ect. Is there a proper fix to the suspension of is this something all Azera owners who have the problem need to live with?

Thanks
LPH

I have a 2006 Azera with 57K miles on it. It also has the headlight dim/overhead shadow issue. Dealer replaced both headlamp assemblies under warranty at about 35 K. Still had shadow and dimming issues. At 56K miles, I began to have starting issues and needed jumpstart. Took to dealer and claimed battery was bad. I paid 150.oo (8 months out of warranty) and asked for them to look at TSB for wiring harness issue as well. Not sure what fixed it but now headligts are much brighter. One of the few bad issues I have had with this car!

Not sure what they did under the hood when they replaced my battery but I must say the lights haven't dimmed in over a month. My Azera is running great right now. I will be driving it down to Venice Florida in March. This will be the longest drive thus far for the car. I did take it on a 400 mile trip and it was fun to drive. I just hope nothing goes wrong with the car on the way down or back.

When battery in warranty condition then it will be changed free of cost by battery service company.

My battery was out of warranty. Not sure what they did other than replacing the dead battery but the diming has stopped for now.

Wow you are in many Forums with this excellent advice. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif) Sorry I had to get rid of all your Advertising.

I will tell you this. If I ever need a Ratchet Strap, (and I'm not sure I know what it is?) I will not order from you! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

Haha!! You've never heard of a Ratchet Strap?? That's funny. The actual term is Ratched Strap.

Everyone knows it's the leather strap that Nurse Ratched used to tie down Jack Nicholson in the movie "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest".

Sheesh, you don't know nuttin', do ya? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/460.gif)

The original battery that is in the Azera is not very good. I had to replace my at 40,000 miles. My wife has an 03 4-runner and it is still on the original battery with 111K miles. Go figure.
