Well, it seems my USB port is dead.
I bought the car 2 months ago, and the USB is dead.
Bummer.

2 days ago, iPod stopped working. The nav unit had a connection error and didn't recognize the ipod.
It recharged the iPod just fine, though.
So, today I tried usb memry stick.
The led on the memory stick got the light on, but the nav unit says nothing is connected.

I'm bringing it in tomorrow morning.
I hope it wouldn't take long to fix it.

DANG!!!!

Update on the USB.

I took it to the dealer, and they played with it for about an hour.
They say it's a loose wiring from the USB port to the nav unit.
They'll get the part by Tuesday and it'll take ~1hr to replace it.

Thank god it's not the nav freezing up issue.

Well, I just went to the dealer this morning to get the job done.
About an hour later they told me they had to replace the nav unit, too.
So, I've got a new nav unit, a new usb port, and a new wiring harness.
It's a bit odd that my dealer always have an extra nav unit in stock.
This is second time they replacing it, and both times I didn't have to wait for the nav unit to come in.

Another odd thing is that my nav unit has been replaced twice since I bought the car in August.
If it fails again, can I use the California Lemon law?
I guess it needs 3 same problems in 18months, right?

No you can't use the Lemon Law on a Nav. Read the booklet for fun. And those new Units aren't new. They are refurbished but new to you!

If you end up needing to replace the Nav unit, I just installed an aftermarket GPS/NAV/Tuner and I am very pleased with it. I got the Kenwood DNX 9410. The display is amazing and looks great when viewing either the optional rear view camera or the included DVD. I got the iPod and USB connection installed in the glove box. The Nav display is also sharp and crisp. I got it online from Pacific Stereo for quite a nice price compared to retail at someplace like Car Toys.

On the 2009 Santa Fe, we were not able to use the iPod/USB ports because they are wired into the main wiring harness. I ordered the car without the Navi because I knew I was going to go with the aftermarket unit ... mainly because of the resolution of the display.
