Does anyone know what the SECC connector just below the dashboard fusebox is for? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)

My guess is it's to read the service information. It would be fun to be able to read it myself.

Tnx ! I'm gonna browse the I10 area as well.

edit: i guess >> this << is the I10-post, it's about an OBDII reader which is located (surprise!) under the fusebox.

Looks like an OBD2/Can port to me. Not that we have to worry about ECU codes, as the 5 year warranty will cover those.
Have one of those on my current mk4 Astra, located under internal handbrake lever. I have used an OBD2 code reader to find ECU faults in the past.

A lot of info about ODB2 can be found on the internets. A diagnostic reader is not really cheap as well.
Here are some fun projects i found;
Here's a guy who builds cables, so you can interface with a laptop. (software downloadable there too)
HackaDay also has an article about a cheap custom reader.
Here's another little application.
Seems that there's something for the iPhone as well called 'rev' (it interfaces through an WiFi OBD-II dongle, ooh yeah baby).

I love it, as do i with all I20 & iPhone stuff (IMG:style_emoticons/default/banana.gif) but it's $157.50 + $40 s&h to Europe, plus the $40 iPhone app. That's $240 in total (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)

Come to think of it, i must have something with the ' i ' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/trophy.gif)
