You've got somthing wrong with the purge system, It sound like the tank is either under pressure or the canister has a vacum drawing the fuel out. Bypassing the canister wont help though. Check your purge valve, it should be closed with the engine off. After you start it the purge valve will cycle and you'll get a slight vacum thru it when you here it clicking. Be very careful, this is a good way to start a fire.

Gas leaks when the fuel pump turns on and when I start the motor.I removed the canister to see which line the gas Is coming from and the canister it says purge.I new to route that line in to my tank because I think it's the return line

Too bad it's so difficult to decipher your description. Sounds like you rerouted your purge line? The purge line is where the engine is supposed to suck up gas vapors into the engine from the canister.

The sentra motor only has fuel inlet and return out let so I connected it to the only two fuel lines there so the return line seems to be the line coming out of the canister.which line on the fuel pump assembly is the return line
