20-30 extra hp with only replacing a head? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) It seems to be a fake. If you tell about G4GM 1.8 Beta engine, there is a hyundai result with a CVVT technology installation - only 11 extra hp. And, as far as I know, beta engine heads 1.8 and 2.0 is absolutely identical - 22100-23001 since 1997.

Dear Peddelz,

No, you will not get 20-30 hp from changing to the 2L head. Now, if you have the camshafts reground for higher lift and longer duration, this can produce 20 hp on your 1.8 liter which is significant. You can also port and polish the intake ports, relieve/backcut the intake valve shrouds, and polish (but not port) the exhaust ports and get 10 more horespower to get your 30.

But you can do this with the 1.8 liter head also.

Byron
