Does anyone have any experience with Remote Starts in Azeras? <strike>Does Azera have a "chip" key?</strike>

Any info would be appreciated, thanks

p.s. Just read on this forum that Azera does have a "chip" key.

Yes, they have a transponder key. You need a bypass module for the remote starter if they make one for the brand of alarm you're considering. Directed (DEI) makes probably 70% of the alarms/remote starts out there. Transponder by-pass module 556uw is required.

If you need the wiring guide let me know and I can post it if you're planning to install yourself.

If you want one installed, pay someone that knows what they are doing and who offers a warranty!! The cost was $300.00 CDN

My 08 Azera was purchased with a remote starter right from the dealer and has been back 4 times with "crank - no start" issues.
A no charge repair of course. They needed the Valet key to accomplish this. No big deal as we wouldn't use that key anyways.
