Just purchased a Hyundai Tucson 2.0l petrol 2006. We are getting petrol fumes in the cab with the sun roof open after a couple of minutes driving. Just wondered had anyone else had similar problems?
Hi Dave
Did you buy it from a hyundai garage? as there is warranty still remaining on this vehicle. Did you look at the service book and is it ok for all its services?
I would think that this could possibly be being drawn into the cab via the heater system .
Can you check to see if you have pollen filters installed in the vehicle and if so look at their condition.
Check the top of the fuel tank to see if there is any sign of leakage around the fuel guage sender unit you can get to this in the cab.
Check under bonnet for any pipelines showing fuel leaking and also the fuel filter.
Now look at the fuel filler and check if the tank cap is ok and that the vent in it is clear.
Failing all above into the dealer
You can also contact me via www.hyundaiownersclub.co.uk where we also have a tame trained Hyundai engineer (who works for himself)
