Hi guys i dont know if anyone has had this problem with the factory nav but mine after 3 months decides to freeze restart and turn on and off all by itself .. I live in NY and it got cold for a week and all of a sudden my nav dies lol not really sure if the weather change an issue but thats the only thing that has changed lol ... but seriously now I have had an 09 sonata for about 3 months fully loaded love the car! but the nav is so effed up lol It freezes and restarts and sometimes it doesnt work at all. I noticed it last week driving home from an aunt house in NJ that i missed the turn since it told me to go straight when i couldnt anymore lol ... I brought it to my service center and they stated the Nav units are on back order. If anyone has had this issue when they fixed it have you had any new issues? I really love my car and kinda hate that this would happend with a factory nav.

i went thru same thing.. they replaced NAV after 2-3 weeks. no problems afterwords. it has nothing to do with cold i guess. while u r waiting for the replacement ask them to run the latest software update. it helps.

I have 2 week old Sonata Limited and it is doing the same. They also told me that it is on back order. It does suck to have a brand new navigation unit mal-function but such is life, I guess. Are these units made by Infinity or Hyundai? I know the software is done by Hyundai but what about hardware?

These units are not made by Hyundai, and have been on back order for over a Year. Sure doesn't sound right to me?

Hahaha. Thanks for the link. I wish I had seen that link before I purchsed the Nav option. Had I known, I would have gotten no Nav unit for 1200 less and purchase after market unit. Well, hopefully the new unit will come soon and it won't repeat the issue.

Hey I spent $450 for the Cheapest TomTom, and now you can get a better one for $99. That is why I often ask if people have searched

before posting. There are a ton of those back order threads. That one was great, because it contained an actual Hyundai Port Employee in it.

Has anyone had an experience with the replacement navigation systems? Mine started to act up at about 2800 miles and if the software update the service technician recommended doesn't work I was wondering if I am into a navigation replacement every 3000 miles until the warranty expires or if the new units fix the problems once and for all.

I just got mine replaced at the dealership. Three weeks of waiting which isn't that bad I guess. I will report back if I have issues with it again...
