I own a 2008 Veracruz Limited FWD - almost 10K on in now so far mostly happy with the car (word of warning never break the rear window 1200.00 to replace it - don't ask me how it is embarrasing)

Anyway - is anyone else noticing a severe pull or tramline? My car is terrible even on pretty level raods - if I get on a road that has any tire grooves in it at all it will either pull to the right or left.

car has been aligned twice and tires replaced and it is still there and it is bad if you let go of the steering wheel it shoots right or left - I have found very few roads here in Ohio that are totally flat!

Dealer says everything is in spec and this is normal?????

BTW 18 inch wheels (with fake chrome covers

any help would be apprecaited

I have noticed this on my 2008 FWD as well. It is worse under acceleration... At first I thought it was torque-steering only. But now after about 12,000 miles I realize that it will try and follow grooves in the road while coasting, too.

I feel this is due to the very neutral nature of the veracruz's steering system. The dealer and shops can't seem to shed any light on the matter. Anyone else having this issue?

I also have a 2008 limited with almost 10k miles and i am having the same problem. I will be making a appoitment with the dealer to see what they tell me. But last problem i has was that when ever i was going 45 or so in the city and i brake the steering wheel starts shaking and all, so i took it to the dealer and they cut the rear rooters a bit and the problem was solve, but know the steering wheel is shaking again and i will take a while guess it will be the same problem with the rooter. Question should i be having these type of problem at 10K miles? do i have to keep cutting the rooters? is these a problem that the warantee covers? when i took it the first time and they cut the rooter the warantee did cover it, but i dont know if it was because the car only had a 100 miles in it or is it cause the rooter and brake are cover for x amount of miles before one actualy has to go and pay for brake service?

Rear rotors that are warped would not cause a steering wheel shake - you would feel it in your seat and brake pedal mostly - front shake is most likley front rotors being warped - not uncommon for most new cars as manufacturers are using cheaper and lighter materials. If the rotors have already been cut once do not allow them to do it again insist on new rotors as the useful life of the rotors has been greatly reduced already. If they cut them again it will solve the problem for a short while but it will be back soon most likley right after the 12 month /12,000 mile adjustment period. If they insist I would get Hyundai NA involved. Let me know what they say about the pulling!

Sounds like your VC needs an alignment check. Probably the front wheels have too much toe-out.
