Hi,

I have recently brought a second hand 97 Accent Mvi 1.5. I had to have three tryes replaced, initially everything was fine, but now there is a loud clunking noise coming from what appears to be the rear wheel on the passenger’s side. The car has always felt quite bumpy but I thought nothing of it, now with this clunking noise I am worried. Any ideas on this would be very much appreciated.

could you say a little more about the noise?

does it always occur in an identical way?
or if it does change, what are you doing when it changes?

did getting new tyres change the sound? if so, the tyre seller may have recourse to help you somehow.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, it is consistent but not rhythmical. It always occurs, it is more noticeable when going slower/pulling away, when I get to 60mph it seems to disappear.

It started just after I had the new tyres put on, but I had only had the car a few days when I had the tyres put on, I have recently had the tracking done as well (the day after I had the tyres put on)

To me the noise sounds like when you get a flat tyre.

Sounds like a spring, shock might be busted. Could be a brake shoe come loose. To many options. Check those to see if they were tampered with.
