Wife has a 2008 VC, fully loaded. Like everyone else, we received two keyless entry/ignition fobs with the car. She keeps one in her purse and, since it's her car, uses it constantly. I have the other fob and leave it hanging on a keyholder under the kitchen cabinet, except when I'm driving the car. Her fob has performed perfectly. The one I'm using seems to eat batteries. Since we bought the car early in 2009, I've been thru 3 batteries in that fob and am now on my 4th. Her fob is still on the original battery.

Anyone have any ideas - or the same problem?

Notr sure where those batteries have come from, but I can safely say that they most likely WERE NOT all from the same place. Usual sources for me would be Batteries Plus, OSCO or Walgreens.

While it's true not all batteries are made the same, 3 batteries from difference sources can't be all bad.

What is the battery number? You might want to make sure your next one is a lithium battery, which tend to be higher capacity and has longer shelf life than other types like silver oxide. Lithium does cost more.

I had the same problem but only with key fob for my 06 Azera. After dealer installed new battery and it failed dealer ordered me new fob. Had to have the car and both fobs at the dealer for programming the new fob but worth it. Has been fine since, about a year now.

To change the battery, just take a coin and insert it in the whole at the bottom of the key fob, twist it and it will pop apart. Battery is right inside. I just had to change mine on my 07 Veracruz, just took it over to Walmart Jewelry dept and got another one, works fine.
