Dear all,

I own an i20, that does not display the fuel consumption reading on the dash main screen. It only shows trip readings in km. I mean you can only use it to measure a certain distance in kilometers.

I want to ask you, since some i20 models show real-time fuel consumtion as well, is there any way to manually activate it somehow.

I am asking this since in my Opel Corsa car, there is a certain procedure you follow by pressing some buttons on the dash, that eventually lead you to a secret menu, that give you the ability to enable this feature.

Thank you.

Your car needs to have a bordcomputer to do that.
If you have one, press 'TRIP' af few times, it's right ahead that little screen which shows if everyone is wearing his seatbelt.(above the radio and so)

I am aware about how to access it.

The discussion started, in order to find a way to enable the boardcomputer functions, if possible, on some cheaper models, that do have the trip button and dashscreen, but display only distances.

It might be possible, that the boardcomputer does gets installed in terms of hardware, on every model, but it is enabled only in specific versions.

Usually it needs a certain procedure, i.e. consequent button presses or combinations with other buttons, that could eventually lead to enabling the boardcomputer display.

I repeat that in my Opel Corsa, the boardcomputer was enabled after a certain procedure by pressing some dash buttons in a specific way.

Cheers
