See original thread here: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/index.php?sh...c=37636&hl= - bought and installed the ddmtunning HID kit which several members have been using without a problem. It has been about 2.5 months since my install and, all of a sudden, today, my headlights don't turn on (no clicking sound either when rotating the light knob).

I checked the fuse and yes, it was blown. I replaced it, started the car, turned on the headlights and within 0.5 seconds the lights shut down, I hear a quick "click," and fuse is blown again. Of course this would happen this evening when I'm set to drive and meet a friend at night who just arrived in town. So I frantically remove the kit and install original bulbs, put in a new fuse, and have no problems.

So, is the HID ballast faulty? The lights did turn on before blowing the fuse again, and have been working fine since the install. Any ideas? Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend installing a higher rated fuse. It's not necessary and you risk subjecting the factory wiring to more load than it was designed to handle. One of the connections may have become loose and was causing a short somewhere.

You may find if you reinstall the kit that it will be okay again. If not and you have made sure all the connections are tight and secure and there are no breaks/cuts in the kit wiring insulation there may be a fault inside one of the ballasts.

Low beam fuse is 20. I checked the wires and everything looks good, just saw that these ballasts have a year warranty so I'll return them. Going back to halogen lights took some getting used to though!
