So I emailed KSpec just now (and they got back to me in under 2 minutes!!). They have an Engine Mount Set for Verna 00-06 http://www.kspec.com/list.php?ac_id=69&ai_id=1599 , so I figured it'd be worth asking.

I asked:
QUOTE
Are you guys going to make a KSPEC Engine Mount Set for Verna set for 2008 Hyundai Accents? I would buy a set if you had one.

They replied:
QUOTE
Thank you for visiting kSpec.

Dear *****,

We do not currently have one for newest Verna.

But if you purchase $199 one and if you tell us your engine type, we can make one for you.

If you need this in hurry, you can do this way.

And if you don’t need this urgently, you can simply wait J

Thank you and have a good day.

So does that mean that we very possibly could have someone that will make us Poly Engine Mounts??? If so, this could be awesome. For twice the price of the engine damper, we could have more rock-solid performance. And I suppose if you added the damper in addition to engine mounts, you'd see even more results.

This could be epic.

But what do they mean "if you tell us your engine type"?
Does that mean they'll custom make ones for me or what?

i dont think it'll be that hard to install, but im not sure if that will be a good mod, since the eng will rattle a little more than usual. since polyurethane its harder than the ruber.

I did the Urethane mod to the front and rear mounts and you can really feel the difference. Having a nice easy to swap kit available is a good thing, and will probably be more reliable in the long run.

why buy new mounts when you can just fill the ones you have? i just did the front mount yesterday. it feels a little better i imagine once the rear is done it will be more significant. $10 as opposed to $200 it might be worth a shot, eh?

94 shore A filled engine mounts work, but are not as reliable as polyurethane. I used Mcmaster Carr in the past. They will fatigue, crack, and eventually fall apart, just like a stock rubber mount over time. I have never personally seen a poly mount fail. I have seen the metal portion of an engine mount split into 2 pieces from a poly mount. That was due to a botched install though.

Also all of the above will transfer more engine vibrations to the cabin. How much, depends on the car. I have yet to be in a car where the added vibration bothered me to a point where I would remove them. It will cause problems hearing the radio at highway speed though.

Engine mounts are a good mod, dont need high HP to feel the benefit, better shifts, reduced wheel hop, reduced wear on the transmission. etc.

The engine mounts make your engine stiff under increased load. And blah blah blah. Sorry, I am on iPod. Don't feel like typing. Google it. Lol

I basically want to figure out if any of these things are even remotely worth it for an automatic transmission.

It is a good mod for any transmission, if not for performance, then for longevity. It will reduce the wear and tear on your drive train by reducing the slop on your engine.
In my very first car, I installed engine mounts to stop breaking axles.

How about the damper? Similar situation? Worth it?

compare to what? the engine mounts? if so then the polyurethane will do a better job than the engine damper.

Im wonder if we can get enough people for a group buy? I'm sure this is a mod that most of us would like to do. We have some serious people here that we can count in if they have their word for buying it, what do you guys think? a group buy for this thing? I'll be down for it. hopefully everything would like the idea and if so i hope they gave us a real number for such car...meaning accent and rio, economy car...i can easily see 10 from here.

Well, I'm rarely serious, but you still can count me in if a group buy manifests. I've wanted stiffer mounts ever since I first saw that damper thingy.
