Hi,

I have a year 2000 Elantra. It has done 86000 Kms. Do I need to change the timing belt now ?

Also there is another problem with the fresh air intake to the passenger area. When you switch on it will close the intake but after switching the engine off and start the engine again it will go to off mode automatically. How do I keep this permanent on ?

Can anybody help ?

regards
SW

Recommended timing belt replacement is at 60k miles. You should also replace your fuel filter at this time. As for the fresh air door it would take diagnosis of the system to properly fix this function.

My understanding was the timing belt should be changed at 60,000 miles or 90,000kms?????

the vent switch is functioning normally, and I am not sure of a way to make the vent always closed, it would involve modification to the electrical system
