Hi, Hoping someone can help me. I have a 1994 pony 1296 cc . It has done just over 35600 miles. 320 miles ago timing belt was changed. Since i have owned the car , about 2 months it has run like a dream. The problem is that i went to use it last weekend, drove it down the road but there was hardly any acceleration, very slow and when i got up there to 50mph it would go no faster. Up hills it is a nightmare, 1st gear sometimes!!!.

I have had timing rechecked, plugs ,points, rotor arm and dizzy cap all ok. Fuel and air filter changed. It starts first turn of the key, idles nicely and even when you rev it , it does`nt miss a beat. It just seems to have a problem under load whilst driving. THE CAR USES NO OIL, WATER AND NO SMOKE. Can someone please help or offer any ideas to the cause of the problem. I have had a look but there are so many valves an solenoids i just don`t know where to start.
Thanks

welcome to the forums (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000732.gif)

one thing that is fairly common on an older car (which you have not mentioned) is a blocked exhaust silence, if the engine exhaust gases can't escape the engine will have no power but it will still fire up and idle smoothly

get someone to help you. when you rev. the engine up gases should flow freely from the tailpipe
