Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me with how I would go about removing the stereo so that I can fit a Parrot handsfree phone kit.

Cheers

I must thank LARS for his hard work for his post http://www.hyundai-forums.com/t36208-chang...hyundai-i10.htm
it is just the best post you could ask to find on the web, a lot of hard work to post that detailed information thanks again.
If you are wondering how to pick up the wire for the back door.
Take out the head unit and plug a new mail plug from HALFORDS, feed the wires to behind the glove blox using plugs from Halfords, then feed the wires back to the plug that plugs into the head 8 wires going to 4 speakers. you need one mail plug and one femail plug 8 pin.

IF the radio has cell-phone mute-ing it SHOULD be on Pin 1 of ISO-A. This connector is for all power services.

ISO-B is for the speakers.Attached File  iso.gif ( 4.63K ) Number of downloads: 9

I must point out that the numbering of the ISO plugs I've shown is MY numbering - the numbers on the drawings given by Lars are the real Hyundai numbers http://www.hyundai-forums.com/t36208-chang...hyundai-i10.htm

Hey madan,
Were you able to install parrot handsfree on ur i10? Even i have an i10 with factory fitted stereo and am looking to install parrot on that. Do we need any extra adaptors to connect parrot to the stereo? Please let me know if its possible to do it on our system!

Thanks!

Hi Guys! Thanks a lot Lars for the detailed instruction on removing the HU (i know its kinda of late (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )
Btw, I have a problem guys, I changed my HU to Sony Xplod GT-180... the thing is, the antenna connector on Hyundai i10 is basically the square one right? and it doesnt fit the Sony xplod so my mechanic pulled out the square connector and placed a new one instead (pen type i should say) for the antenna FM reception... Well, one of my mistake is that we didnt test the HU before he closes the panel and now the FM reception is really bad! Any idea what would be the problem? is it the connection that my mechanic did or some issues with the Xplod FM or something.. thanks!

It's most probably a poor soldered connection on the aerial plug. I recently changed my OEM head unit for a Sony Double din one that I imported From the USA (Sony don't list a double din type in the UK) so I had the same problem with the square type plug, as there is no 'square to round' type adapter made, although there is a 'round to square' one! Reception is fine on my unit, and it's far superior to the OEM one,- the complete set-up cost me just under £200, so I'm well pleased.

Hi, and (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000732.gif) to the forum.

My guess is that it'll be a dodgy connection. Who swapped out the HU for you?

Would one of these not do?

It looks as though you may be correct. I asked a supposed 'car stereo specialist', and was told that no such adaptor was available, so I just cut the 'square' type plug off, and soldered the correct type plug on. As I'm an Electrician, the soldering job was the work of a minute or so, and got on with fitting the new HU.
