Hey Hyundai Lovers! I have compiled the entries from our banner competition, and here is your chance to vote in your favourite which we will be adding to the site as the new top banner! Please have a look at all entries carefully and choose whichever you feel suits the site best and looks better than the rest in your eyes. We appreciate all the entries sent in, and I am looking forward to seeing which one comes out on top. I know which one I like but we are leaving this choice up to you, the great members of Hyundai-Forums.com to decide. Good luck to all entries!! NOTE: the voting will close on October 4th, 2009. Cheers! Nadeem ENTRY #1

I voted #4, reason being it shows a selection of vehicles from throughout the whole range....... not just the expensive ones (that I can't afford LOL). All good entries though (IMG: style_emoticons/default/grin.gif) Best of luck to all who entered. Dave

As a graphic designer (I wish I knew about the contest in time to participate....):
I agree that having the Hyundai logo may bring up a legal issue...
I also don't see why show OLDER MODELS on the banner, like the currently popular #4 is showing..... The new GORGEOUS Sonata is already being introduced, and this old (excuse me, but it's also UGLY) Santa Fe?
#3 is the nicer of them all, exposing the newer, luxury line of Hyundai and the safest, legally.

Voted #3 I find that #3 is the most unique out of all 5 and seeing as it does not have the Hyundai logo (even tho this is a Hyundai enthusiasts forum) I can't see any copyright issues arising. Plus I think the whole bar-code thing represents a lot about modding and buying Hyundai vehicles. gogo #3!! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/trophy.gif)

I vote to keep the current banner! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/harhar.gif) (Who made it?) I like the current color scheme on the forums and I get the feeling a new banner would = new color scheme. I'm surprised nobody made a 'green'-looking banner. You know, the ads with tons of white and green in it with sans serif font and the like... I just don't like the dark color schemes on these banners and ditto above on the ugly... I mean 'older' cars in #4. I'd probably have voted for that one though...(4)

#4 by far. As Mr. Pogle mentioned, it has a wider variety of Hyundai vehicles and just flat out looks the most polished.

QUOTE (Shambles @ Sep 21 2009, 11:25 AM) I think you could have a logo copyright issue with entries 1, 4 and 5
We had to remove the i30 logo from our club forum and were not allowed to reproduce other text with the same font. QUOTE (mamamia @ Sep 21 2009, 04:13 PM) I agree that having the Hyundai logo may bring up a legal issue... So what? Wouldn't it also be a legal issue for us to post any pictures of our cars which display the Hyundai logo as well (the front and rear badges), since they are "likenesses of the Hyundai Corp logo"? I really don't think Hyundai's going to care that much, and if they do, they're only wasting their time.

There's a HUGE difference between showing a car, and showing a logo.... Legally, when you show the logo as part of the site's banner, it implies the car maker having a stake in that web site. I'm no lawyer, but having years of experience with graphics and copyright issues, I can tell you it may create a problem.
Besides, creating a brand new look, using OLD models is -- excuse my French -- just plain DUMB.... Especially when Hyundai is going thru SUCH HUGE AND DRAMATIC design changes.... Just as the current banner shows a concept car, it would make more sense to use graphics that show the FUTURE, maybe a typical line of design taken from the new Sonata, or the Genesis...
