First fuel up yesterday (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

275 miles on the clock and just over 29 litres to fill giving me 42.7mpg

I was a little disappointed by that but like others have said this should improve once the car has a few more miles on it and everything loosens up.

Revving the nuts off it every time I need to pull away from standing still to avoid clutch judder isn't helping (IMG:style_emoticons/default/angry.gif)

I'm on too. Anyone else notice that the UK and US readings are the wrong way round? Mine was showing approx 51MPG on UK and 43 MPG on US gallons? Or I have I done something wrong?

the US gallon is smaller than the UK gallon. less fuel will mean you don't go as far.

now there mpg figures look like what the i10 should be doing, so why are so many of the improved kappa engined i10's doing so badly?

Why then on fuelly.com does it say approx 99 litres worth of fuel for 938 miles equals (aprrox) 51 mpg UK when on this site that only uses UK gallons

http://www.torquecars.com/tools/uk-mpg-calculator.php

calculates it to 43 mpg and by my own calculations of one uk gallon equalling 4.545 litres also equalling approx 43 mpg

Just tried those figures on fuelly.com and it calculated to 43.1 mpg UK.

The UK mpg fuelly.com has calculated from my years worth of data I uploaded matches the figures in my own spreadsheet.

@Cardiff Noddy: you might need to change your profile on fuelly to be UK as yours seems to be showing all price values in $ compared to everyone elses where it's showing in £ plus they've got a UK flag shown against their profile

Just added our car, even though we dont have it yet !
Hope the Eastham Motors dealer is true to his word about the delivery times!
probably set up the units etc up on there wrong, as there was only US Gallons or litres on the 'my car' settings page.

My i10 has averaged 50.4 over the 3000 miles since i got it in July. This is after adjusting it to take into account the under reading of the mileage of 2.1%. I expect the mpg to go down over the winter months as well.

My driving consists also of about 90% motorways and of journeys of 40 miles or more. I rarely go much above 65mph (as per the satnav) and the mpg is little better than my old 1.2 Corsa trip which averaged 49.27 over its last year.

I am to say the least disappointed as I fully expected to get around 55mph. The Corsa however was lot lighter than the i10.

On the plus side it drives very well and other than the mpg, I am very pleased with it and happy to have bought it.

i am planning to make a formal written complaint to the MD of hyundai UK

if anyone would allow me to use their fuel data to back up our claims of poor mpg then let me know or add me as a friend on fuelly.

please get your i10 on fuelly. we can use this when contacting hyundai with regards to the inability of most i10's to get anywhere close to the "claimed" mpg.

i don't think that a car that should do 56mpg should be getting high 30's or low 40's mpg.
