these things are not working on my '03 Elantra, I have replaced the fuse that was burned out and nothing. I dont see anything else that could be a problem...the speaker wires crimped and broke in the door jam, that was the original cause. That has been fixed and just cant get it going now. Anyone help me out with my dilemna? Thanks in advance for any help!

-Chris

Tell us exactly what's going on, do the door locks work is the clock working etc, it could be a ground supply issue, if you have fiddle with the car , then to solve your problem, you'll have to let me know what exactly you've done so I can assist.

Don't waste you time with an Auto Electrician, as they tend to exasperate the problem and rarely know how to fully repair the problem, as a doctor once said if it's not in the text book it's just not possible, " Yeah right".

The exact problem is that the clock doesnt work, the interior lights dont come on (either in the on position or when the door opens) and the radio doesnt power on. I have checked fuses 9 and 25 and they are both fine. Initially it was just that the fuse 9 would blow, I would replace that and it would fix the problem temporarily. This last time, fuse 9 blew, I replaced it and the items listed previously are not working now. The wiring that I ran to replace the old to power the door speakers frayed/broke and was shorting out I believe - I am pretty sure that is what caused the initial problem, that is resolved now.

As for the dealer - this is an aftermarket radio, I installed it with one of those harnesses so you dont have to cut any wires. I ran new speaker wire so I wouldnt have to alter any of the existing wiring. Took it to the dealer with my problem and I guess I voided the warranty - didnt even change anything.

Thanks for your help - this is quite frustrating.

Remove the interior light from the roof and you should see a wiring plug on the outer/inner case, three wires, Door ajar -Green orange-12 volt, black-ground supply, cut a piece of wire and attach one end to a metal part in the car, grip it on, my suggestion is under the dashboard the steering mount frame. This should provide ground power to the line. reattach the interior light to its loom and then attach your loose ground wire to the rear of the hyundai loom on the black line, press frimly so wire doesn't come loose. Now put the interior light in the on position, if it lights up when you turn it on an off then your problem is the ground supply to the interior light, radio etc. Firstly find out exactly what's wrong then we'll sort out the rewire issue.

Good Luck
