I have a 2006 Santa Fe with the 2.2 dsl engine and I want to change the timing belt as it has almost 70K on the clock .
I haven't been able to find any information re changing the belt and I would like if possible to avoid main dlrs .
I have always done my own work and probably changing the belt would be OK - I would just like to know if there are any 'must have' locking pins etc . Some cars now don't have keys to locate the pulleys for example - great fun if you only find out this after removing the pulley .
Any advice or links etc greatly appreciated . Really like the Santa Fe and want to keep it in top shape .

No reason why you shouldn't do it yourself but it is a fairly big task-suggest you visit www.hyundaiownersclub.co.uk to get a manual before undetaking this to be sure you get things spot on- I would also suggest you get a complete kit so all the parts that need doing get done at the same time.
Take it yours is the new style model from 2006-current?
