Hey,

Just picked up a 2009 elantra se this afternoon and i am starting to wonder if they pulled a fast one, giving me a gls w/options.

It was a "Cash for Clunkers" deal and i had checked that my old car was qualified. But first thing they did was bring a list of cars they said didn't qualify, which included mine. When i started to leave, they said hold on lets double check & then they decided it qualified, i have no reason to trust them!! And it took them forever to "detail" & fill it!!

Is there something physically i can check on the car to ensure it's a SE vs GLS ???

Thanks, Mickey.

SE has solid wheels, GLS has hubcaps. I find that the easiest way.

I had the same question about the Elantra Touring I bought. Not that I didn't trust the dealer, but more because I read some things after and saw that the Touring had different trims. They don't seem to brand them on the back like most cars.

I checked the inside door sticker and didn't see anything.

Have you checked your window sticker?

The SE gives you a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, trip computer, 16 inch alloys, and steering wheel audio controls.

Thanks for the input guys!

After comparing the standard and optional equipment of the GLS vs SE, it looks like it is the SE.

It is kind of confusing that hyundai doesn't seem to really differentiate them in any obvious way, aside from the standard equipment included! All the paperwork says: "2009 Hyundai Elantra" and when i gave my insurance the VIN thats how it came up. You would think the VIN would specify GLS or SE, if for no other reason then the SE including the ESC.

So far i am pretty happy with the car!!

Thanks Again, Mickey.
