I'm 30, partner is 28, we are waiting for delivery of a Red Classic i10. Agree with those above, the i10 is about affordability not age. We chose the i10 as it has extra features other cars in the same price range don't have (and our plan was to use the scrappage scheme to get the best car we could for the cheapest price possible), and its a bonus that it fits into the £35 tax band.

Hi Duuncun I joined this forum just to answer your post; you are only getting the answers from computer users so the results may be a bit off. You have made a good choice with this car, and I am in the trade. So good on you for going for the best car in its class, my children drive cars with three cylinders and complain that they are a bit noisy and vibrate on tick over. I could have gone for a 4.6 litre Triumph Stag but like you, you can spend the money you save on living life to the full, not follow others like sheep. You could drive around with a cool surfboard on the roof rack or drive to some great windsurfing places; the best people in sport all drive the cheapest cars at first till the get great. As for the Clio/ Coil packs, throttle potentiometers, Key transponders faults, always in the garage and three weeks to look at it under warranty. AGE 50 but trailing my musto will make my i10 look better and me look younger. I got my i10 to tow my Musto Skiff sailing boat at half the fuel cost of my LPG Grand Vitara, My i10 is now Lpg and gets me to the coast 110 miles for £4, My bacon butty for two cost more than the fuel. The max tow weight for the i10 is 450kg and the boat and trailer 190kg, boat all up 80kg. Best car in the class by far for mpg and power for towing. Lots of interest at the LPG conversion garage, cool car and boat is Ferrari rating in the sailing world? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfrbyNJ8hbQ Not me in the boat.

I am 64.3.
mildly OT. In UK, some people used to think (about 30 years back when I spent a few enjoyable years) that after 40 if you are not driving a Jaguar, you have not arrived. If you own an inexpensive (to own or to maintain) car, you are poor, miser, eccentric, pensioner or a communist :-).
I think over the years such conception has become obsolete, like walkmans and mainframes. Today, a nice VFM car like i10 with enjoyable interior and fun to drive is a smart choice. Even more if it is a bit offbeat in looks. So friends, enjoy your vehicle and be counted as a smart person, young or old. Yessir, i10, indeed is "neighbour's envy, owner's pride", as in Indian parlance cheers.

I am a fourty seven (and a half) year old fart with a Comfort in bright red. Also have a Mondeo and a Smart. But finances dictate and this car makes sense. Probably the most bang for your buck, best engine and best warranty in its class. Throw in 5 doors, all round electric windows, alloys, CL and a miserly road tax fee and it all suddenly makes sense. Oh, and £2000 off for my old banger - much as I loved it.

My girlfriend bought her Alpine Blue Comfort in March and turned 30 in July. I'm 32 in September and pick up my Red Comfort in just over 3 weeks (I hope) We both investigated and test drove the i10, C1 and Alto back in March and the i10 won hands down. My girlfriend is very excited now that we have just found out her car has an alarm (thanks to this forum). She's ringing her insurance in the morning to see if they will refund some of her premium, if you don't ask... (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I was 40 when I ordered my Comfort 1.2 in Oyster Grey; now 41 and I picked it up this morning. Looked lovely with its 59 plates and I am not regretting buying it in any way; even though I have always laughed at people who buy new cars...but with 30% reduction via scrappage, most of the depreciation is already done (and the fact that Hyundai can't make enough of these to keep up with demand should keep residuals reasonably high anyway). We also looked at all the others in this bracket (Aygo, Sirion, Pandas, Alto, Piccanto) and none of them really came close overall.
Age is irrelevant; these are cheap (to buy as well as to own), well-specc'ed, fun to drive cars with a 5-year warranty. You don't have to any specific age to find the benefits of buying one....
Nuck.

I'm 40, and my children love my new i10 as much as I do!
I do feel the ES was aimed at younger people - what with the boy racer interior!
