44 going on 24.

I've seen a few in this part of the world, but mainly driven by people older than me.

People at work who have seen the car have admired it and been impressed by the value for money, even before scrappage was taken into consideration on the price.

Hi, been getting grief of my dad about ordering the i10 as it is apparently the old persons car of choice. Not that it bothers me being as he's 45 and drives a Rip Curl Clio to make him feel 'hip' ahem!

So out of interest how old are you guys and girls?

I'm 22, have yet to pass my test :S but have i10 coming in Sept haha

I´m 48, and in Sweden I would say that the i10 predominantly is a choice for older people.

OT: The reason for that is that Sweden is Volvo/SAAB country. For generations we have gotten used to larger cars (than we actually need), and small cars have always had it rough here. FIAT, for example, are almost extinct here. Hyundai used to be a joke in Sweden until the Santa Fe arrived. The Santa Fe suddenly brought new customers to the showrooms and changed all that, but still, if you drive a small car, and especially a i10 or Getz in Sweden, you´re most likely retired or an immigrant...which is really sad since I believe that the i10 is an excellent choice of car if you give it a fair chance.

I don't think choice of car is anything to do with age, it's more about affordability and suitability. Many of the younger end are just getting their first new car at a very good price under the scrappage scheme, as it's a good way of getting rid of the 'banger' they bought to pass their driving test with, or the first car they could afford, which is now past it's 'sell by' date! It's worth far more as a 'scrappage trade-in' than it would ever make in a straight sale, so it's a good deal all round. Secondly, both the younger end and us 'old farts' (I'm very much 'in this category!') want something economical to run as neither sector is blessed with loads of spare cash, and us oldies have only the grandchildren to consider as back seat passengers, so no longer need large cars. The fact that the i10 really is a superb little car thats economical, quick and comfortable is the icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned, and I've no interest in the 'perceived badge Kudos' that some people seem to have- ie, "I need a Merc/ BMW/ Audi or whatever, to let people know how important I am". If you're a Banker (hope I spelt that right!) or similar, with a big bonus and an ego to match, then the i10's not going to be your thing,- that's your loss. I'm happy to say that my i10 is one of the best (if not THE best) cars I've owned, and I've owned a good few over the last 45 years!

whether or not its your first car or your last ,i think it really does come down to price. if browny hadn't stumped up the cash to knock a big lump off the price then i probably couldnt have afforded one at all. ultimately the i10 picks itself theres no other choice really..................oh, and my good lady loves it too!...................... the car i mean!

my dads the i10 owner he got it in febuary after he's 5 year old getz started showing signs that it wanted a new gear box he is 67 and bought an ex demonstror which was a 1.1 style with a sunroof he loves it i driven it a few times but come october he'll want a drive of my i20 i#m 40 and the main reason i didn't get an i10 was the size and space and this car i'm liable to have to keep for a long time so i need to get what i wanted come what may. the i10 is a nice car to drive and excellent for what you pay he got he's for £6000 before it became impossible to get them. dads always had a hyundai of some for or other and this is the only one i've driven and thought this is interesting as every other one has been bland inside korean designers are booring thats the good thing about them haveing a european design centre................

Wife is 54, I am 51. Will be picking up a new i10 1.2 Comfort next week. It will be replacing her 52 plate Punto. Must say the test drive was very impressive. My car? Impreza WRX 300 05 plate with only 12,500 miles on it, so you can see that it is the i10 that will be getting LOTS of use!!

I must also add that we went to the dealers on Sunday so a weeks delivery time is fantastic since I have now seen on here how long some customers are having to wait!!!
