I don't mind the red seats - but not with a green car, maybe I wasn't too clear, it's the style that you have no choice of seat colour with, just the half leather with red piping

I have had my phone call today!!!!!!

My new i20 is at the dealership, I've just chosen the reg plate I wanted, and the dealer has gone ahead and registered with the DVLA! I will get insurance sorted tomorrow and go and pick it up on Saturday morning!!!

I'm not sure what ship it was on, as I was told that one the car reaches UK it has to be configured to UK spec, to it will probably have been in the country for at least a week.

I'm actually so happy I could soil myself!

After seeing that post I thought I would give my dealer a ring and see if he had any update for me, his reply was that he did'nt expect to hear anything in the near future because the colour I chose (electric green) is a special order (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

i must have seen about 50 to 100 cars come of the boat the majority of them were red or silver and they seemed to be a majority of i10's
bad news for us.........

you won't be able to check for another couple of weeks as the shippers eurkor only put 4 weeks at a time up this is where to check

http://www.eukor21.com/homepage/manage/vessel_schedule.jsp

you press vessel schdule and put in til for tilbury or mad for chennai.
has the dealer said they should have it for the 1st week in october?
if this is the case it should be in the country 2 weeks befoe as it takes that long from tilbury to the dealers

I think I must have been lucky ordered on Sunday 9th August and picked it up on Thursday 20th August.
Probably due to me wanting a 3 door comfort in Sparkle blue (they had 3 unallocated when he went to check) I think if i wanted a 5 door in standard red i was looking at October.
All round was very pleased with the process (traded in my dying polo on the scrappage scheme) so full marks to Simonstone on the Bath road, Bristol.

I've been following this thread with interest and just joined the forum so I can post my twopenneth worth.

My wife and I ordered our i20 on 20th June and were originally told mid-to late August, then late Aug to early Sept. Gave the dealer another call today and now its end of Sept.

Waiting for a 5 door grey model (1.2) with black seats. Just hope it doesn't keep getting pushed back much more or we're going to have to mot and service the car we're getting rid of!

I have been having similar thoughts - the tax on mine is up at the end of october and the mot runs out early november - what happens if I havn't got my new i20 by then, the scrappage deal says that the car has to have mot & tax - or because I ordered while both were still valid do I just drop it off at the dealers and declare it sorn, and they give me a courtesy car till mine arrives - I think NOT !!

I ordered on 25th May, and just picked up my little beauty on Thursday 27th August. However the car was delivered to the dealer 8 days prior.

I have an i20 sparkle blue (awesome colour) 1.4 CRDi comfort, 2010 model with ESP. I think i represent the longest amount of time anyone should have to wait for an i20 with those specs from what I have read.

Also, I gave up my old car on 15th July!!! the MOT was due then, and I didnt think it would be another month and a bit before the new one arrived.... and I live in the middle of nowhere!!

To say the wait has been unbearable is an understatement to say the least.

Was the wait worth it?? I can wholeheartedly say a big YES. It drives like an absolute dream, I was used to driveing it within 1 day, and its incredible responsive and the sheer amount of features on it makes your mouth water.

Hang in there guys, I know its tough but it will be worth it!

i went to my dealers the other day to sort out an alarm which after the price they quoted me i decided against £400 for the hyundai alarm when the alarm itsself is £120 on hyundais accesories page but the other reason was to check what stage the order was at factory or shipping the woman that served me was on holiday and no one else could give me information or any order status. but what i did see was every where they could put a new car there was one all withh 59 plates on them and ready to go tuesday out of about 60 cars 5 wern't i10s so they seem to be concentrating on the i10's i don't fancy my chances of trying to get an answer from her on tuesday i think i will wait untill wednesday........

Drives: 2009 I20 classic - when it finally arrives.......

I ordered a I20 5-door classic in red on 20th June (scrappage scheme). Promised delivery "August, maybe sooner". Chased today, "definitely by the end of the month (September)". Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Still, on the plus side.......

I hope I'll get a 2010MY spec car although I only paid £6245 which was 2009MY price (pre 30/6).
I'll definitely get a 59 plate car.

My car's MOT ran out 4th July, Tax 30th June. It is currently SORN and parked off-road. I'll probably have to trailer it there or persuade the dealers to collect.

The delay is starting to grate on me somewhat - sharing a car with my wife and cycling when necessary is a novelty that is now wearing off.
