(IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif) Hi All,

Could anyone tell me if they had their car on the ship that docked on the 2nd November? If so have you now got your car from the dealership as my dealership tells me they are waiting for the chassi number and could be 10-14 days before they receive it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)

Hmm decicions decicons,

my car is on a lorry on route to the dealers and i have a 300mile round trip to do at the weekend.

i can get the car on friday, but if i do they have told me they wont have time to get it cleaned so it will be dirty on the outside and possibly inside too.

or i have to wait untill tuesday when it will have been cleaned etc.

really cant decide if i want it early to get to drive it long distance but it seems a shame to get it when it will be dirty from the outset ...

If your dealer is fairly close why not go and have a look and see how dirty it is, it surely can't be too bad as they come all wrapped up anyways don't they ?? Make your decision after seeing it

Maybe not so much an issue for the inside but I would have thought that possible cosmetic defects / damage to the paintwork or the alloys would be easier to spot on a clean vehicle ?
On the other hand... I bet you can't wait to get your hands on it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

It makes me wonder just how long this queue for i20's is. I have not received glimmer of when i get mine from the dealer.
I ordered a i20 1.4 comfort on September 6th and no courtesy call whatso ever from my dealer. I have made two totally fruitless calls and drew a total blank on possible delivery dates. Not really good enough really

i ordered mine on September the 26th.

i think i got lucky because my dealer had ordered a bunch of cars in advance of client orders hoping / knowing he would get people in for them. one of which was a 1.2 5dr comfort in silver which was the model i wanted.

through out the process i have had to nag them, i found popping into the dealers received 100% better response than phoning them, I.e they actually get up and look into your quiery.

when i have popped in tho they have been very helpful so i imagine they just arent used to the volume of orders they are dealing with which may be why people arent geting updates.

anyway im penciled in to pick my car up on the 24-11-09 roughly 2 months after order, so im certainly in no position to complain about anything. just need my insurance cert to come through now ;)

as a side note my dad just picked up a i30 1.4 5door comfort and i must say its a beauitful car, little things like a drop down holder for sun glasses are very nicely made, i dont remember anything like that in the i20 so maybe it is just somthing they have put in the larger model.

either way im getting close to getting my car and im very excited (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It is my belief that if Hyundai after the scrappage deal comes to an end want to stay in their newly found position amongst the big boys they will surely have to get their act together and introduce some public relations within their set up.
I know it is down to the dealerships to keep us informed, but it is apparent that many including mine are falling far short of an acceptable service and Hyundai HQ know this due to the alleged comments posted on this site and therefore need to take the dealers to task.

My car is due soon!

Dealer returned call and informed me that car arrived in UK last friday (so presumably on Asian Venture) and that it normally takes about 2 weeks to get to dealership. They have always returned phone calls promptly with solid information but have never volunteered an update.

I ordered 1.4 diesel comfort under scrappage at end September. Dealer originally would not accept scrappage order then they rang next day to say that Hyundai would allow them to place one more order. Was told to expect delivery "end of December or maybe January" so it should be sooner than expected!

Well, that whiled away a little while! 2 waste of time calls to Hyundai head office and customer services and no furhter forward. I'm sure I saw on here that the status shows as in factory, until 2 weeks into the journey, does anyone know if that is the case? Also, does anyone know how long the whole journey from India to Tilbury takes? I'm just thinking with Christmas just 5 weeks away, if car really hasn't started its journey it is unlikely to make the journey, spend a couple of weeks making its way to the dealer, and still be here by Christmas - mmmmmmm, 350 mile trip each way, the day after boxing day in a 1986 Honda Civic.................

I think, but I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, that the journey from india to tilbury is 3 (or was it 4 ?) weeks, I might have mentioned this on another thread somewhere, I'm not sure (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif) that I ordered my Green i20 comfort on 26th July originally

Yep still waiting, and it's still showing "at factory". I have emailed the top man at Hyundai uk with a few well chosen words but I shan't be holding my breath waiting for an answer. I have re-ordered due to my scrappage car running out of tax & mot, and bought another small car to run around in, I purchased a personalized 59 reg plate but I think we'll be onto the next ones (10) by the time I get the car.

Hi All,

As per my conversation with Martin26, I did get a call from the General Manager of Hatfields of York. After informing him of all what has gone on with his sales manager, he said he would try and fast track my car getting up to his dealership. Having ordered my car on the 4th August and am still waiting, I have decided to write to them, giving the dealership 7 days in which to suppy me with a car as per their terms and condition 3b as it has now been some 3 and half months.

Although the General Manager has been very accomodating, I feel I have waited long enough, so it looks like another second hand car for me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)

My dealer appears not to want to return any of my calls regarding the delivery of my i20, so I guess it wasn't on last weeks Asian Venture.
This weekend makes it 12 weeks since my orderwas placed, my old scrapped car is with them as the MOT ran out 5 weeks ago, I've had 60 quid back from Swansea for weighing in my unused tax.
So with only four weeks left for scrappage I am getting a little concerned, so do any of you out there know the name of the next ship due to bring in the i20's?

What annoys me is my old motor had only done 58k and was running like a good'un but her at home wanted a new motor.

I phoned my dealer today and have been told that my i20 CRDi style in oyster grey has arrived in Tilbury. Should be about 3 weeks from today but they did say they'll call me in 10-12 days to give me my new number plates. Its in the stage of awaiting a chassis number. Bear in mind I ordered at the end of Sept 09 and the expected estimated delivery was 26th November, I'm happy. Cannot wait for my i20. Also I have some extra's to add too. My local dealer is Bushey who only one of them is nice. The rest are rude and obnoxious.

Ordered my dark grey 1.4 comfort i20 on 15 August and was told delivery early October, which came and went. Then told early November, which came and went. By now I'm getting a bit fed up, only to be told that Hyundai were prioritising orders and my car, which was at Tilbury, was going to be given to someone else that has been waiting longer than me and I was now looking at end of the year/early January! My dealer was one of the first in the country and they reckoned they had a bit of influence with Hyundai so the week before last they fired off an email about my situation and other customers, they have already lost 15 orders, and would call me when they had a reply. After a week of not hearing anything I went back to them and the manager rang Hyundai in front of me, my car was waiting to go on a transporter! I got a phone call yesterday that I could pick it up on Wednesday morning!

I went up this morning before they opened and there it was, number plated by not PDI'ed, I took a few pictures to show the misses.....roll on Wednesday morning!
