Can anyone tell me if they know of any ships docking tomorrow, my dealer called me for the first time two weeks ago and advised me that a ship was docking on the 2nd November and that my car should be with them 10 days after that. It has now been nearly 13 weeks since I ordered my car, bearing in mind my dealer said it would only be 6-8 weeks. Do the dealers advise you when the ship has docked or when they receive the car?

Many thanks in advance (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)

i don't know about anyone else but my dealer told me my car was at sea 2 weeks into it trip from india for some reason its status only changes from factory 2 weeks after leaving india. For some reason there isn't a ship showing on the eukor schedule but port of london authority has ASIAN DYNASTY as docking at tilbury @5pm today and on the tracker map on google its just of margate at 16.45.
i hope that helps and that hyundai can get it through pre delivery a bit quicker than mone which was 3 weeks and i've still got 3 weeks to wait again as dealer can't turn the cars round quick enough.

luckily for me i was on page 3 and showed as "at sea" another guy in the dealers stated that the shipment with i20's on it is due in on Nov 12th but didnt mention the ships name.

does anyone in the know, know the name of the ship due on the 12th so i can be nosey and keep an eye on it?

hi!

no i wasnt but i certainly will be now as that seems to work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

i know tracking the ship doesnt really speed things up but it will just amuse me for the next 10 days to watch it getting closer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

tho of course if it turns up and my car isnt on it i wil be less happy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hi everyone
This is my first posting and I am sure you can help me.

I ordered my i20 Comfort with the black/grey seats alternative on September 6th, and up to now have heared nothing from my dealer apart from I phoned a fortnight and he said he had no news.
Iam wondering if any of you out there could give an informed guesstimate on how long I may have to wait for delivery.
I am a patient sort of bloke but not being kept informed getting a bit annoying.
I like many others had to scrap my old car to save getting it re MOT'd so I am struggling through on public transport.
I am having reversing sensors fitted by the dealer so I hope it won't spend weeks at Tilbury.
I am banking on the Asian Venture on the 12th having it on board

im by no means an expert like some of these guys, but from reading the board i can see that some people are having to wait a heck of a lot longer than others and for no apparent reason.

my best tip would be to go into the dealers rather than phoning.

when i phoned my dealer they seemed uninterested about giving me details. i went in and they fetched the actual order sheet (showing all the orders) and low and behold were able to give me much more information.

remember its alot easier to fob someone off over the phone than in person, so if u have the time i would say definatly pop in and ask for more info,

I originally ordered my i20 comfort on 26th July, but because I ordered it in electric green, was told from the outset that I would have a longer wait than most as it was a special order. after 3 months had passed I cancelled that order and re-ordered the same car at the same time as my mot & tax were running out at the end of that week and I had been told by my dealer that there ws no way I would get my car within the 4 month time scale laid down in the scrappage deal, I hope my car is on the asian venture which docks on the 12th - but somehow I just know it won't be. Best of luck in getting yours any quicker but I have resigned myself to just waiting - and waiting - and waiting - and................

there are certain areas where the tracker doesn't work it start working when the ship comes out of the suez canal and then yu loose the signal again a day later and it comes back on just after gibraltar and then goes again as the ship turns right at portugal by portimao and then comes back on at the foot of cornwall i hope this helps.

@bizay1: my girlfriend has ordered the same (at the end of august) and was told it's 1 of 11 being produced during this month so maybe they're grouping them all together. hopefully not in your case but with how much longer the 'rarer' models seem to take to produce it's a possibility.

hi all first post .
I am totally confused , i have been given 4 new delivery dates since ordering an i20 on 14TH august , initially i was told early october if i ordered metallic paint and a month later if i ordered a red one , as the red classic is the cheapest option there was a massive backlog , so i ordered metallic blue and am still waiting . my dealer now tells me 10 to 14 days from 2nd nov and the car will be with him , i will then have to wait for plates tax etc , but if the Asian Venture does not dock until the 14th and its taking 10 to 14 days to pdi at tilbury how will he possibly have my car in 10 to 14 days ? has there been another ship dock between the last one on the 23rd of october and now ? (think he had me a treat with the metallic paint ! car dealers bless them )

i30's come by road through dover as they are made in Nošovice Czech Republic there is a bit of guess work in this but i delivery to companys around tilbury and thought it strange that i kept seeing transporters with i30's on going into the port and then my mate who does the same job in kent said he kept seeing them on the m20 so i put 2 and 2 together.
asian dynasty docked on 1st november tho...........
