after looking at various manufactures offerings under the scrappage scheme I settled for an i20 1.2 comfort 2010 my. I placed an order on monday 13th july. I was told there was 10 unallocated to customers on a ship that docked in 2 to three days the predicted collection date was 7th August. on wednesday 22nd july the dealer rang me to say it had arrived at the garage and I collected it, prepped and taxed on friday 24th July. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)

incredible. Very pleased with the car apart from the cheap and nasty gear knob?

garage was doncaster hyundai

Cheap and nasty gear knob now replaced with momo offering as shown in the accessory book. it makes the interior look that bit different but at a price? it's well made and fits and is a big improvement on the std nasty thing.

Yep we got ours in a week too - would have had it quicker but there was some issue with delivery truck drivers striking at the time.

I ordered mine on 26th July, havn't been given a delivery date yet but have been told it won't be here until after September, it's probably because I went for the electric green comfort model which means a special order with black seats

i'm ordering my i20 comfort today one of the dealers has said to me the earliest i will recieve the car is the first week in october has anyone rodered a car in the last week or two?
there are previous coments about being given long delivery dates and then getting it a week later?
the woman at the dealership showed me a folder and she must have had 300 back orders all i10 and i20's nothing else.
my dads had a hyundai of some sort since about 1993 and would go to the dealer and have the car the following week as long as he had red now you can't even get a red car.

well, I konw the feeling...
I oredered mine, and beacuse I wanted two color interior, and BlackGrey paint I was told that i will have it in 15-20 working days (that was afternoon). Next day 8.am my cell rings, and pleasnt guy says that there was some mixup and I will have my car that afternoon, but they just need to check if it is duo-tone interior when it arrives. Somewhere around noon they called me to pick it up. all in all, some 14 hours from order to delivery...

what is the i10 delivery page??

I ordered an i20 comfort 1.4 CRD at the end of May under the scrappage scheme and was quoted an 8-10 week wait for delivery. I was contacted about a week after by the dealer, who needed me to amend the registration of my (then) current car, which was still registered at my parents address, in order to proceed with the scrappage order. I did this, and sent him the new V5 to allow him to proceed with the order. I then went away on holiday, and upon returning was told that the order had been changed to the 2010 model, due to them reaching their quota for 2009's. As I understood it, this was not a hold up to production.

On 12th of July, I phoned the dealer to find out any updates, as my (then) current car was due for MOT on the 15th and I needed to know whether to MOT the car or leave it with them. I was told that the ship had docked and that the car should be with me within 1-2 weeks. I decided that it wasn't worth the hassle of the MOT for 1-2 weeks use, so I left the car with the dealer to be scrapped. I made a further enquiry and was told that the order was still on the system as 'in factory', which apparently could mean anywhere from not yet built, to shipping.

It is now a full month since I was told 1-2 weeks, and I'm without a car and feeling really frustrated by the lack of information and, it would seem, lies from the dealer. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Are there any other ways of checking my order status?

i10 delivery page if you go to the top of this page and click on Hyundai-Forums.com and then go into the i10 forum the i10 page within that theres another page title i10 delivery it keeps you up to date of what boat are leaving india and going to tilbury and how long they take.
i've read most of them in the last week as there not much on this page if you can find out you're hyundai order number somewhere in there someone got so **** of they phoned hyundai direct and got a lot better answer than from the dealer.
the trouble with the dealers is their so overwelmed with orders because of scrapage that they arn't tracking all orders.
the other thing is the dealer should have a direct connection with hyundai uk over the net that can tell them what status you're order is at ie FACTORY SHIPPING OR TILBURY.
the good news is theres a boat due into tilbury tomorrow at 4am our time and it's come from antwerp and from what i can tell only hyundai use tilbury but they do use it for their heavy plant machinery as well
you can find out what boats are comming if you wan't to
i hope this helps.start becoming obsesed with it like iam and iam only a week in and should have my car by the 1st week in october fingers crossed.

Wow that is awesome, thank you! I feel better already knowing that there is something I can be looking at while I wait, makes me feel a lot less helpless.

From what was on that forum, an i10 with ESP took from 16th May until now, well the i20 are not as popular as the i10, so hopefully there will be a slightly less of a lead time. Finger's crossed I get a phone call tomorrow or Monday!

Come on Toscana! hahaha

i've just read what you 1st wrote and hadn't realised you had ordered a diesel my dealer said to me that diesel are like gold dust and take at least twice as long i'm looking at the best part of 9 weeks for a red 1.2 comfort so from what she said add a month so 3 months delivery the boats on average take about 4 weeks because they travel round europe dropping cars of and were near the end.

At the time of order, there were still a lot of petrol models held in UK stock, and there were a few classic diesel models. Hopefully at the time ordered the demand wasn't as high for diesels as it is now. That being said, it has been 3 months already so I should have it by now. Hyundai really need to have a more refined order status system.

From reading the i10 forum I would hope that my i20 comfort would be on one of the ships due in in the next 4 weeks, I'm starting to get a bit impatient now, and I've only been waiting 3 weeks

i think you need to start pestering you're dealer on a regular basis and see if any where on you're paperwork from the dealer if their order number is on there and phone hyundai up some one in the i10 forum did that and the dealer was giving them the runaround before the minute the call went into hyundai all **** broke loose at the dealership and the woman got an answer as all the dealer had been saying was it was at factory it came of the boat 2 days after makeing the call which tells you the dealer couldn't be bothered to check........
i think the phone number is at the bottom of the hyundai website the office address is somewhere in reading berkshire.
my dealer told me 1st week in october to acheive that the car needs to be on a ship from chenai at the end of august as it takes 4 weeks....

what delivery date did they say when you ordered?
i'm only a week in and getting itchy feet ship tracking is helping trying to work out if the ro ro boats going to tilbury have been to india i'm going on holiday in 4 weeks time a whole week with no internet i'll be going nuts by the end.
the only bonus is 2 weeks after is when i'm due to get it.
did they offer you a classic?
what did you think of the interior?

I wasn't given a date, maybe because I ordered a 1.4 petrol comfort in electric green, so the interior will be black, none of that red or blue bits on the seats, I wasn't offered a classic but they said I could have a style within 2 weeks - I wouldn't go for that and the reason I didn't go for the style was because of the red piping on the seats - no other choice, so I couldn't see a green car looking to good with red piping on the seats.
I go on holiday on 8th October and want to drive up to the airport in mine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

the day before i did the deal i wen't to the dealeship and the woman who served me was pulling her hair out with some old codger wanting an i10 on scapage and was after a discount of what is the quoted price for scrapage i had been in there earlier in the week and she recognizwd me and i think i was a welcome relief for a couple of minutes all i did was ask her to find out delivery times and if any versions would be quicker than others that was last saterday and i've got to wait till the 1st week in october.
i'm getting a 1.2l 5 door in red with the red interior that you dislike but each to their own you're getting the electric green paintwork you could have the black seats in any comfort colour but the woman said to me the plain seats take longer for some reason she didn't know why?
needless to say i had been doing my homework on an i20 for about a month and knew i had to do the deal last weekend or forget about it for a while as the price went up £300 last monday.
