QUOTE (Bhav @ Sep 15 2009, 04:49 PM) Well I do agree they should be keeping us updated - I had the same problem. Although when I went to collect my car, I realised how busy they were - the phone literally did not stop ringing, with people asking if there were anymore i10s/20s available.
I was just saying that the comparison with Play.com/Amazon is a little flawed ;) I am hopeful that at any given time hyundai would be able to track a chassis to any point in construction or transportation throughout its organisation surely it would take a lot of stress away from dealers and customers if this data were available to customers, akin to tracking a parcel /consignment through the courier system ? Aaaaah we can but dream ! looking back through these Forums over the last 3 to 5 years or so at least one model or another has had a long waiting list aside from and including special factory orders .ie: auto /esp etc surely many of those waiting for cars would feel less anxoius about the wait if we could follow its progress to us online. Mr Whitehead or your successor are you listening? Does any one else here agree if so SAY so what harm can it do

QUOTE (zappomatic @ Sep 17 2009, 10:40 PM) Anyone getting theirs through Hyundai London? I've found the salesman I'm dealing with to be absolutely rubbish at returning calls (had to phone 4 times over the space of more than a week before I got anywhere) and even then was very vague (almost shifty) about delivery status. Grr! Having complained on Hyundai's website regarding the complete lack of customer service shown by a dealer further out of town when turning up for a prearranged i20 test drive, I was contacted by an Hyundai London salesman a couple of hours later. Met the guy the following morning, took a car out for a test drive, was told not to expect delivery before mid December and the car was ordered. He tried to sell me some extras but was not overly pushy about it so it went quite smoothly in my opinion. Now obviously, it was just a week ago and I haven't yet had to contact them again, but, fingers crossed !

Dealer - BCC Hyundai Bolton, Ste Burke Ordered - i10 ES red Order date - 11th July Deposit - £200 Advised delivery - 25th August (did say this was a best guess only) Available to collect - 11th September Collected date - 23rd September
Bad bits - Could not give me any further info (Factory / Sea / Tilbury) when I enquired end of August, only to get call a week later to say car would be available. I had made other plans by then and so had to wait 2 weeks. - Tax disc paid up to 31st August 2010. 23 days lost! I know dealers can do part months. Did it for my sister when she got her i10. - Asked that no advertising stickers be stuck on back window. I had to remove these when I got home. Not hard, but wasted 5 mins of my time.
Good bits - Was not pushy, but was forthcomming and helpful with information. - Was able to quickly recognise that I did not want all the 'extras' and left it at that. - Was totally upfront that the advised delivery date was a best guess only. - Car came with 1/4 tank full ( Negotiated by sister for her car. I just asked for same freebies.) - Car came with mats (BCC logo ones) (Again, as with petrol) - Allowed me to freely do my 100s point check before taking delivery!
Overall - Pretty good, would most likely be going there for servicing.
Dealer - Horbury Bridge Garages Did the test drive here. Gave them my driving licence, and was given free range on the courtesy i10. Unfortunately when I returned the car, the salesman had gone to lunch(?), and a young lad was manning the desk whilst balancing the eating of his sandwich. As I could not get any information out of him and had no idea how long the salesman would be, I left.
Dealer - R N Golden This is where I saw the ES model, and found the salesman to be quiet pleasant. Got some details, as I was still trying to decide on ES or classic. Called up a few days later to query about service costs. Spoke to the owner Matthew Golden himself, who was very helpful. Went to place my order a week later, but unfortunatly saleman could not find any red ES available for me to order. Tried to offer the metallic ESs, but I wanted the red one. Appears being a small independant, their allocation had been used up already. Unfortunately had to leave without ordering.
Will possibly use for servicing as near to work and have had good reviews from some collegues.
Dealer - Stoneacre Hyundai Middle aged saleman greeted me as I parked up. Not a very friendly face. Have I just ran over his dog? Very quick chat. Gave me a choice of cars they had available and some figures. Seemed like the information I gave him as to what I wanted never entered his head! I tried to negotiate on price. Gave me a blunt take it or leave it answer. (I know it's a suppliers market for the i10, but could have conveyed it in a more friendly manner!)
Very unlikely to visit again.
Dealer - Manchester Hyundai (in Salford) Got lost whist looking for the garage! Whilst waiting to see the salesman, overheard the rather strong sales pitch to an elderly couple. Saleman was pleasant enough, but take it or leave it attitude again. (In a more friendly manner at least).
Unlikey to visit.

Burnham Garage The dealer was very honest from very beginning about delivery dates. A little "dizzy" but very polite salesman explained everything, got car ready for a test drive and later for delivery. No hard sale for any options. Their service centre is in Maidenhead but I haven't used it yet so any additional comments are welcome (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) My standards are set by Toyota and Hyundai is a little behind (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

QUOTE (scm @ Sep 27 2009, 09:53 AM) My standards are set by Toyota and Hyundai is a little behind (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I was very very close to getting a Toyota Aygo, with my sister getting the Yaris, but got totally messed around by the salesman ( think he had reached his monthly quota ). So here I am, 2 x Hyundai i10, and very possibly another Hyundai for my father soon. In your face Toyota - Bolton! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/bwekk.gif)

I have been watching the forum for a couple of months and now wish I had checked it out before placing my order!
Ordered:-
i10 Comfort Blue Automatic With scrappage
Dealer promised:-
It would be delivered before the MOT on my wifes car expired as she could not be without a car
Dealer Delivered:-
Nothing
History:
I was at the dealer to look over their used cars, sales guy approached (as usual), and went on to explain about the 110 scrappage deal, before he wasted too much time, I told him it would take too long as we needed a car within 6 weeks because the MOT would expire and we could not be without a car. Sales guy disappeared for 5 minutes and came back saying he had a blue i10 auto in the country almost ready for delivery if I put a deposit down. It had already had Gaurdex applied so I would have to pay for that as well.
Following a test drive a deal was done.
Last week I called him to ask when my car would be available, he said he would call back. 2 days later he says it hasn't left the factory, I ask him why is it at the factory when he had told me it was already in the country, long pause followed by "I'll get back to you". Apparently there was a mixup, he assured he hadnt lied to me to make the deal, he was even good enough to not make me pay for the gaurdex as it would not have to be applied.
I told him to stick it where the sun dont shine. I have just managed to get my deposit back, even then they offered to go through their used list to see if there was anything I fancied, you have to laugh or else you'll cry!
So instead of having 6 weeks to find a replacement car I now have seven days, thanks for nothing Richmond Hyundai.
C.

QUOTE (tooden @ Sep 3 2009, 10:00 AM) What a dissapointment i have just been informed by hyundai customer care that by the time i get my car mid november i will have been waiting FIVE MONTHS from order on Friday the Twelth of June when i was informed by IAN RICHARDS of NORMANDY GARAGE that as i had specified ESP it would be a factory order and i would not expect to see my car untill SEPTEMBER subsequently this has been extended month by month every time i enquire so after 3months of waiting i was not too happy to find out from hyundai that an order for my car was not placed with them untill 25th june so for 2 weeks while the world and his wife were placing orders my dealer was whistling a merry Tune . i had high hopes of a long relaitionship with hyundai and Normandy Garage through the 5 year servicing contract but i Certainly Wont be Dealing with NORMANDY GARAGE I bought my 1.1 ES i10 from Normandy Garage, I placed the order in early May, I asked for delivery on 1st Sept (59 plate) and they delivered the car to my home on the day before (a bank holiday). I found them to be very good. I have unfortunately got the juddering clutch problem with my car and Normandy Garage are dealing with that to my satisfaction. I have found them to responsive and return my calls and emails. I think Hyundai have had such a huge rush of orders for the i10 and not just in the UK that they are having difficulty meeting the demand. I understand your frustration but I would recommend Normandy Garage and I think you should give them another Chance. LS

I'm really anxious as to when I shall receive my i10 Comfort Auto in silver, which I ordered from Normandy Garage on June 8th, after reading your comments. I went there personally after 4 months, although I won't say who I spoke to, to be told that the computer says that my car is still at the factory. (For all I know it could still be a roll of steel waiting to be pressed!). He said he'd re-order it from the date of its MOT in August so goodness knows how long it'll take now. I'm not very impressed with the the lack of information, however I appreciate that the high demand for the i10 has been huge and I don't think they know how to cope with this situation. I just wish that they'd be open and honest and, if they don't know, just say that they can't say for sure when delivery will be. Fortunately my nearly 20 year old Micra is still behaving well. Do please let me know if and when you get your car.

Seems to be a theme with Normandy Garage and lack of information. Don't get me wrong they have always been polite and helpful it has just seemed like a one way street of information gathering with myself having to phone up constantly to find out whats going on. However, I am pleased to say I am just off to collect my I10 comfort but it was looking like the old Toyota corolla was going to be limping into the new year at one point!!

I'm pleased that you've now collected your i10 Comfort, and hope that you're liking it. Is it manual or auto? Also, and most importantly, when did you order it? I'm now up to 5 months waiting for my auto Comfort from Normandy Garage so will go and have a word with them next week.

Just to let you know that I collected my silver i10 Comforrt Auto today and very pleased after only a few miles. I had to wait 5 1/2 months but I think it was worth it. Normandy Garage, Surrey - excellent - many thanks for a pleasant friendly service. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif)

So far it is very much about how dealers perform regarding the sale of new cars, the true test comes when the car goes wrong. In my case the brake pads wore out after just 3845 miles and my dealer charged me £95.75 to replace them. Hyundai Tech dept are satisfied that this is not due to a fault and customer service along with the Hyundai MD are both satisied that the fault lies with my driving, although not one person has advised me what particular driving habit may have caused this. Back to the topic though !
The dealer I bought from was Premier Autos Blackfen. the purchase was as smooth as honey, and the salesman, Colin was very helpful. I would give him 9/10
The dealer I took my car to for repair was Grays of Chatham, they recently changed from Suzuki to Hyundai so are fairly new to the brand... The service manager was Andy, he was as shocked as I was with the performance of the brake pads and he assured me that he would take the matter further with Hyundai, this said, I still had to pay £95.75 for the pads, and it was left to me to take it up with customer service, this was wher the service became very dissappointing. I would therefore give the dealer a score of 7/10 for the service provided.
However my lowest score is reserved for the Head office of Hyundai, customer service..... they take the customer out of customer service !!!
I wont go on about the experience as it goes off topic, it is all available under a separate thread I10 Brake Pads, How many miles would you expect before renewing the pads??? if you are interested in the nitty gritty.
