Ok I know its been done to death in other forums, but what are people's favourite cruising songs?
Now when I say cruising, I don't mean flying down the highway @ 100km/hr. More like prowling along the the local main strip, windows down, music turned up...... sharing your music with others around you.
Now I'm sure some of you will object to this kind of behaviour, calling it 'Ricers" or in aussie terms 'tossers', but in my opinion if you have a nice car, and take care of it, why not flaunt it. I'm 21 by the way, so feel free to call me immature, young and stupid..... I know it, but hey you are only young once.
:offtopic:
So back on topic, if people could list their top 20 cruising songs and reasons why the song is cool, then I think we will have an interesting discussion on our hands. Just a few rules however.....
1. Do not bag anyone's choice or song or style of music. People all like different sounds, and would it kill you to listen to something different? However debate will be allowed however if people feel that it is an inappropriate song for cruising.....e.g anything by Kenny G. Sure he is a talented man, but in my opinion his songs don't suit cruising.
2. Try not to double up on songs, please read what others have posted. I hope to after some time tabulate a complete list.
3. Don't be afraid to list songs that you really love, but think others will find stupid. You can be sure there are some shckers in my list but I rated them as awesome for cruising.
4. Finally...... No one suggest 'Radar Love' by Gold Earring. Yes it is one of the greatest driving songs ever, no need to go on about it. Discussion over.
So Here it is Getz_Drivers  top Cruising songs.......
Addicted to Bass - Josh Abrahams A song about cruising.... Hell Yeah! Bohemian Like You - The Dandy Warhols ...... "You Got a Great Car.....Oooh ooh! Black Betty - Spiderbait Great Drum Line, gets you pumped for a night on the town. Breathe - Prodigy Waiting For that Bass to kick in is the best bit. Butterfly - Crazy Town Just something about those guitars, does it for me Don't Look Back in Anger - Oasis Feeling Mellow? Chicks love it too :wink2: Four to the Floor - Starsailor If I could dance in my Getz I would........ Get Low - Lil Jon & the Eastside boys Anyone who has played Need For Speed Underground knows what I'm on about. Gin and Juice - Snoop DogWhen you feel like cruising with your Homies..... Hey Boy Hey Girl - Chemical Brothers Actually anything by the Chemical Bros Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice Tragic I know....But the fact that its so crap makes it cool.....Ice Ice Baby, Too Cold Too Cold. Try it, love it, be ridiculed. LOL Jump Around - House Of Pain You just gotta love the 90's Keep Hope Alive - The Crystal Method Get that adrenaline pumping!!!!! Lose My Breath - Destiny's Child Included because it is the only song my girlfriend will let me turn up really loud when she's in the car. One Of My Kind (Radio Edit) - INXS Because its and awesome remix of an INXS song Paint It Black - Rolling Stones Feel that angst, also cool if you have a black car........ Popular - Darren Hayes Just like the song.....About posers, thats what i'm doing. Rollin' - Limp Bizkit Very Har to keep hands on steering wheel. Seven Nation Army - White Stripes Great Drum Track Slow Jam - New Order Very Mellow song, makes you feel better after long day Smack My Bitch Up - Prodigy Once again once that bass kicks in, I'm in heaven. Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand Guitars, Scots, great song... What more do you need? Vertigo - U2 Actually anything by U2 with a rock riff goes off.
Well there it is my top cruising songs. I want to put more but I'll see what everone puts first. You can probably see what kind of themes i'm going for. Happy Cruising Everybody........Cheers Getz_Driver

no need to "share" your music with me. please keep it in your own auto with the windows up. maybe you can open the windows when you are parked behind the "ACME" supermarket. yeah, that is a good place for your music. by the way you are not "sharing", you are IMPOSING. your egocentricity beckons a comparison to a 4 year old, not a 21 year old. and you are allowed to vote? only in Calif..... stay out of S. FLA. please??

Firstly 01pspbpw, I really appreciate your concern about me 'sharing my music' with you. However rather than me winding my windows up I suggest that you turn your hearing aid off!!!!! Your comments illustrate that you are nothing more than a grumpy old bastard, who has nothing better to do than IMPOSE their unconstructive comments in a post that was meant purely for fun and amusement. Perhaps if I had included some Bing Crosby songs (Kids, ask your grandparents) you might have been more receptive my previous post.
Secondly, the fact you utilised a word such as ‘egocentricity’ not only demonstrates that your are a very sad person who thinks they are cool because they own a dictionary, and have too much time on their hands. It also proves that you are an arrogant pretentious (look I used a big word too!) who likes nothing better than to think he is better than others.
Thirdly the fact that you assume that I inhabit a country that breeds a half-wit like yourself, and a president of similar capacity is quite insulting. Perhaps if you had taken some time to read the post you might have realised that I live in Australia. Even now you are probably thinking that I come from a small German speaking nation in Europe. Maybe you should get an atlas to complement that dictionary mate! Oops that’s right, If I don’t live in the USA, I don’t deserve an opinion.
Also for your information, the legal age in Australia for voting, drinking, gambling etc is 18. Since that time I have voted in a number of local, state and federal elections, completed my university masters in business, and have served in civil war ravaged East Timor with the Australian army as a 2nd lieutenant. If this does not afford me the right to occasionally let my hair down, and have a little fun, at the expense of offending your precious ears, then I suggest you go take a flying leap, because I don’t give a stuff what you think.
By the way I have visited your country a number of times, and have travelled both the states of California and Florida, as well as many others. Let me just say I would much rather associate with Californians, whom I found to be very polite, kind and helpful, than an arrogant, pessimistic, xenophobic (look another big word!) prick from Southern Florida. I would rate your ****-hole of a state slightly below that of New Zealand. (That’s an insult by the way…….Just heard you guys down there are a little slow, having a governor named Jeb and all). As per your request I have no problem staying out of S. FLA, just in case I come across a ‘tosser’ like you.
In closing, next time you feel the urge to spoil the fun and amusement of another forum member, I suggest you get your facts right first, and then keep your negative opinion to yourself because no one really cares…..
Cheers Mate

haha, my guts went bad from taking meds for my bad back. bad back is better. my gut doctor says my internals will come around with a daily pill. I am glad to see you are in good spirits over there on Pago-Pago. My favorite dream island is RoraTunga. Way down in the south seas. All my life I have dreamed of going there. I can't wait. I have been building a B18 engine. All through this process I have been constantly reminded of one of my all time get-out cruising albums. From the 1st time I heard the album until my final day alive - and possibly played to accompany my funeral - the best highway album is by a group named WAR entitled "Four Cornered Room". I will look for the CD in my local store and send it to you if I find it. Check back here in a couple of days. Oh, the B18 engine build has been stopped because I totalled my ride about 10 days back. I now have a 2001 elantra and I ease around the block. I hope I find the WAR cd. Does anyone else like WAR?

yeah, you are the only one of us 3 that booms off target. I'm all for WAR, the origin likes vanilla cream puff daddy. To what music do you CRUISE?? I bet if you think about it you can tell us where the saying "toe the line" comes from?? The saying comes from getting a prisoner head-count. All prisoners were ordered to "toe the line" prior to the count. Usually a line outside the cell doors on each rampart. I knew this from my days behind 30 ft walls. Vanilla cream Puff Daddy knows it because all Ausies descend from English prisoners. This saying also refers to an individual's willingness to remain at his task in a well motivated, steadfast, dutiful manner. Regardless the danger. How would you like to tell us your favorite cruising music? Or, maybe relate your favorite "self-help" seminar tape??
