there must be a reason why the check light it coming on, has your dealer checked for the fault code and then the cause? if this has happened more than once has the same fault code caused it and the problem not been rectified properly?

First time was a fault with spark plug wires. Second time was the gas cap not tight enough.(My fault) I am taking it in for an inspection at an indepent, trustworthy garage. then will go the Hyundai dealer to get couvered under warranty. At least the car has nt let me stranded like my Plymouth did a year that i owned.

ALWAYS MAKE SURE, THAT ANY FAULT CODE IS NOTED ON YOUR PART OF THE WORK ORDER. INSIST ON IT.

Hehehe.....mine comes in every day......It is off when i start the car for the first time of the day...and then when i drive for a while, the Check Engine Light(CEL) comes in.....as if it reminds me everyday saying I am still working....I am a part of ur car...True ..and it really drives u crazy when u see everything perfect in ur car except for this light...I have an appointment with the Hyundai Dealers the coming tuesday...they r going to check the light...Hopefully everything works out well....

But if u look through the forum, plus many other Hyundai forums, everyone seems to be having the same problem...even if their car is running fine....

Probably, its time for the Hyundai manufacturers to look into the problem..

Cheers
Raj

this is not a HYUNDAI problem, but a industry wide scenario.

Just had it inspected, everything is good on it. Computer read that was a evap-system problem. Gas cap must be defective?it sure was on tight. Could it be anything else. This was a non Hyundai shop.

Duke,

Just what are you trying to say?

Be clear! Spit it out! Elucidate!

Haha!

I feel your frustration, man.

Take one of the green ones and watch the walls melt, dude.

Cheers,

Andrew B) .

Check engine light has been gone for a few days now. I just crank the gas cap tight until it makes 3 clicks.
