Yesterday, I ordered a Bosch alternator from NAPA and I just picked it up today. However, there's a few things that don't make sense. The alternator is in a NAPA Pro Series Box, the Alternator has a NAPA sticker on it, and the part number says NAE 13782. Here's what's online.
Alternator - Remfd
w/ 95 Amp Alternator Mando Type To 5/21/99 BSH AL4040X (Part number) $264.00 Core $89.07 Alternator - Remfd Available at NAPA stores. This part can only be purchased from your local NAPA AUTO PARTS Store. w/ 95 Amp Alternator w/ 6 Groove Serpentine Pulley Mando Type NAE 13782 (Part Number) Alternator - Remfd Available at NAPA stores. This part can only be purchased from your local NAPA AUTO PARTS Store. PME 12064
Notice how it shows the price for the Bosch alt but not for the other two. I'm thinking that the part number should be BSH AL4040X. When I asked the guy about it he said that it was a bosch unit but that it was reman by NAPA and that's why it it has NAPA written all over it, but he still says its a bosch unit.
Has anyone bought a Bosch Alt from NAPA before? Did it come in a NAPA box? Am I getting F%#*$^* played here? BTW I paid 304 w/out tax and w/out the core for this.
Help please!

Fine, I'll delete the other thread. The reason I posted over here is that there are tons of more people here. The second reason is that I want to know about the quality of Bosch alternators related to any sonata in general. Geez if I'm just trying to find people that will help me. Sorry I'm not a five star member and know everything about this forum.

Sorry I'm not a five star member and know everything about this forum. You cant delete a Thread here. You can change words only. If you need to contribute to your first off topic Thread, why that's where it would belong. or better yet in the 1999 Sonata section (IMG: style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) Most of us are under Warranty, and a Bosch Alternator for a 1999 Sonata is not applicable to our group. Why not try the General Non Model Specific Board or the Off Topic Lounge. And 5 Stars or not, Cross, Off Topic, or Double Posting is not allowed. Just ask me where my Billy Mays thread went!

QUOTE (sodian @ Jul 3 2009, 02:52 PM) When did you become a moderator? Why don't you try and help the guy out instead of blasting him for a change? So what if he has an older Sonata? I'm not blasting anyone for having an older Car. He started a Topic here Yesterday on Bosch, and started another Topic on the same subject today. This is not what we do. If you do it, I would complain about you too!

QUOTE (sodian @ Jul 4 2009, 07:51 AM) You take car forums way to serious. You are mistaken. I take the 2006 NF Deep Water Blue LX Sonata very seriously. A general question about an Alternator, or any other Auto part that does not apply should be moved here. The OP posted 2 identical questions in the 4G Sub Forum as it remains the #1 Sub Forum. With your help we can keep it that way. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif)
