Ok so recently I was just driving the car at fairly low speed like around 40-50 km/h and I thought I was in SHIFTRONIC mode, it turns out I was in Drive. What this did was push the car into neutral! Suddenly rpms started rising up and then I quickly pushed it back into drive and the car shook a bit....
My question is, did I mess something up? The car seems normal but should I check it out or something?

*btw I realize I mispelled my title lol

depends on how high you revved it... red-line? did you hit the rev-limited a few times? if not, then I think it should be fine. I'm also assuming you let off the gas when you put it back into D... that may be the reason it jerked a bit.

If it was a jerk, it was probably just the shifting u did on ur gears. It'll probably be ok just don't make it a habit.

Oh Hugo only I could do the biggest bonehead maneuver of all times. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/banana.gif)

While driving up to the Apartment Gate in my CRV, I jammed it in Park. It made a

terrible noise. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/trophy.gif) While our manual says not to take the Sonata out of Gear and shift to neutral,

I doubt you did any real damage!

Ive done this a few times, I thought I was in shift mode, and I wasn't, and I slammed it forward and it flew into N and car reved hiting around 6, I left off the gas until the revs came down and shifted back into D... When I did my car jerked too... Scary stuff! but that was over 10k miles ago, cars still running perfectly smoooth.

As long as you weren't hitting the rev limiter when you shifted back into D it shouldn;t have stressed the tranny too much.

Hey MIAMI, I've done the same EXACT thing pulling up to my old apartment gate back in jersey. I almost put my head through the windshield!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif) I WAS high...

Hey Hugo, if you hold left click on the title in the main screen you can fix the typo!

Wow Miami, I bet that CRV lasted a long time though, I have seen so many high mileage ones! They are built to last, especially the 97-01 models I believe

I hated it though. My first and only SUV in 2000. Then bought a Turbo 2004 Subaru Forrester that did a 5.8 Zero to 60.

But that thing was a death trap, traded down on a brand new 2005 Elantra, and traded up to the 2006 V6 Sonata. Perhaps

the best Car I have ever had. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

Wow, Subaru Forrester does 5.8 0-60! Thats amazing, never underestimate a Subaru or many crossovers these days. I remember I underestimated an Acura RDX Turbo and was confused as to why he was right on me for so long! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)

I also had another Hyundai before my Sonata, it was the 2002 Sonata GL 4 cyl and it was almost bullet-proof! It was abused so much yet nothing went wrong with it! And thats why I bought my NF Sonata, its great, loaded with almost everything! Although I love my E55 AMG, I cant deny that whenever I want to go around in silence, comfort or just cruise around with a touch a speed, the Sonata is always my first choice!
