Had my front windshield replaced and now my wipers are no longer working. I don't have the rain sensor on the car windshield. What could it be??

Thank you in advance.

Are you CERTAIN that you don't have rain-sensing wipers? ;)

It's the only circuit int he windshield, period... and it just so happens to be on the windshield wiper motor relay.

Shouldn't you go back to whomever replaced the windshield and tell them to fix it, or pay the dealership to fix it? That should be their responsibility... not yours... right?

If you still have the original side window sticker, it will show you if you have the automatic rain sensor option.

Bought the car used-don't have the sticker that you've mentioned. Is their another way to tell you have the rain sensor option? Should the switch on the wiper handle have an automatic position on it??

You should have a plastic cover on the windshield behind the mirror to the right side that kinda looks like an elongated tear drop. It has the rain sensor behind that.

If you have the manual, on page 85 of my '07 manual you can find a description of the rain sensor and a picture of its location. Its fairly noticeable. I have attached the picture. Good luck.

Verdict- When they replaced the windshied they unplug the motor to the wipers! Easy fix!
Thanks everyone!

This is why I don't like for anyone to work on my car. When you touch something it's likely you break something else if you're not careful. -- I need to replace my dash pad because it's cracking and have read stories of the radio, heater, ligths etc. not working after they replaced it. I'll keep my fingers cross when they do it!
