Hi,

I just got my new i20 "DynamicVersion". Great car but it's manual doesn't tell that much about the integrated audio system. Especially about the display. What does "LO" (see picture) mean?

Its stands for "Local"
Ie picks up local Strong FM signal.
If you switch it off it recieves a wider signal on FM band.

Uhm... what's so significant of this "local Strong FM signal" option? I have no idea how to switch it off to hear the difference.

As anyone sussed out how to turn this 'LO' function off on the radio ? Unless I've missed something, it doesn't seem to be documented.

The interesting part which i noted from the picture you have posted that your vehicle showing the DISTANCE TO EMPTY(D.T.E),AVERAGE FUEL CONSUMPTION(AFC),ELAPSE TIME(E/T),INSTANT FUEL CONSUMPTION in the display. In my vehicle it doesn't show up.

You said you have a Dynamic version of i20. May i know from which country you are from? Also will you be able to provide you VIN number so i can check what is the part differences from my vehicle to yours.

Its the European market model. The brochure (link below) for all models available here shows the display as I have it (Trip computer). The manual that comes with my car does mention a simpler display with only trip distance and a clock, and an extended version that has two meters for Elapsed Time and Trip Distance.

back on-topic... I still don't know what "LO" means. It's bad enough that all RDS options are not explained in the manual at all.

What I gathered from the internet is posting here as we don't have any Traffic Announcement feature in our Country.

'LO' is for local. In this mode, FM stations with a weaker signal are filtered out, letting only with the ones (generally local) with a strong signal through.
Depressing the AST button will enter the DX (long distance sort of thing) search mode. I haven't yet taken the time to properly try searching and storing stations in the DX mode, so, I can't tell you whether it's actually effective.
