2006 Azera 44,600Km both ball joints are gone! All driving in city or hwy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
Will be replaced under warranty, but wtf that's not many miles.
How good are these parts they use and is this the reason fro the cheaper price? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)
Salesman confirmed to me today that the Azzy is out! They'll no longer manufature it after the last model run. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

All driving in city or highway...what else is there? Rural downtowns?

There are a few components on the Azera that aren't up to luxury-sedan muster, notably the fake wood steering wheel. Some have also cited the carpeting, the seat leather and the crack-prone dashtop, but the last one may have been simply a bad early-production run. Of course, the cost savings have to come from somewhere -- this is, in fact, not a luxury car. The only one that's clearly and unanimously cited as evidence of a damaging cheapout is the struts.

As for the current Azera being discontinued after this model year, that's well known. The question is whether the next generation of the car, already showing up on spy sites as a Kia, will also be brought to America as a Hyundai. (It's virtually certain to live on in Korea.) There seems to be no definitive answer yet, but it seems to be a very modern-looking sedan and will have a new Hyundai-built 6-speed automatic for better mileage.

Dunno what to say, it is what it is. Some of the parts are priced cheap, some of the parts are built cheap. Of course, on a Jag or Mercedes you can pay $10 for a single little rubber O-ring. Does that make it a better car? I need to replace the ball joints on my Vanden Plas w/ 42k on it - but it's almost 14 years old. "All city & highway" driving - I'm also not sure that makes sense. What else is normal for a 3-year-old sedan? Demolition derby? Off-road rally race?

Didn't know they're killing the Az but perhaps the writing is on the wall, perhaps it has been for a year.

For those who bought it used, get ready to get slugged with dismal, unprecedentedly poor resale value. Woe betide those who bought one new (I bought 2 new, btw), you are (I am) driving a car that'll be worth little more than a can of Pepsi in a year. You could probably sell it on the building construction market for scrap steel for more than you could sell it as a used car.

And so the other shoe drops. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I suspect that the weak link in the suspension are the struts and springs. This in turn places more stress on other components and depending on the quality of streets where you drive as well as your driving style, then it is not completely surprising. Still, it does seem a bit too soon to be replacing ball joints at 44K miles. Oh well. The Azera needs to stay where it belongs . . . South Korea.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) indeed!

All that stuff I said about not saying anything negative about the Azera/Hyundai.......I take it back.
