Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows if my car (95 elantra 1.8) has a FITV. I know it has a IAC. I'm having surging idle problems after car warms up. there's no vacuume leak, TBS is good, MAS is good. I cleaned the IAC & TB, aand noticed there was another part connected to the TB besides the IAC. wasn't going to taake off till I was sure. So, if anybody knows if my 95 elantra has a FITV (fast idle thermo valve) I would greatly love some input...
BIG THANKS IN ADVANCE ..................... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/57.gif)

hi

some bad an good news so as for the good i had the same problem with my hyundai elantra 2.0 dohc 16v

rought idle speed while surgeing i tryed many things but over time it got worse so after tryin air flow controler an other possibils i discover it was a hole in the intake (injection) manifold gasket (the bad news)

also first check the rubber pipes around the surgetank on the injection system as this can cause the same problem

i discoverd this by spraying wd-40 in between the head and the intake manifold try an spray 360 around intake manifold unless the engine cuts out if so this tells u there is a big hole in the gasket

and it will need replaceing imideatly as this can nacker the overdrive mechnisim on the gear box
