Hi all

I can see there are a lot of posts on the delivery of the i10, I have not read all of them as they are covering 37 pages!

I ordered 4th October to be told 8-10 now I am being told January!!!!

My biggest grip is not being kept informed, I note the sales exec and his grumbles a few post ago, well mine are this, complete indifference by SE's (is this because it's on the scappage scheme?), lack of information, none response to my email. I was to be telephoned about a test drive last week that did not happen, when I talked to the manager this morning he says there has not been a i10 in for me to test drive but no one told me that, communication, communcation, communcation it goes a long way to preventing customer's frustration.

But suddenly there is a car due in this morning I am getting a test drive tomorrow AND if I don't mind the colour I can have it!!!!!!! Pity it's silver.

Hello. First off i would like to introduce myself onto this forum, this is my fiorst post. Perhaps i should'nt be on here, but i am a sales executive selling hyundai from a large dealer in sussex. The reason for me writing in this forum is that i am upset, angry and dissapointed with the negative press that we ( sales in general) recieve.

Welcome to this forum, isellhyundai!

My i10-buying experience was pleasant, mainly due to the fact that I, effectively, sold the car to myself. I did all the research and I was more knowledgeable about the i10 than the salesman. I had the good fortune to choose and inspect the car that I, subsequently, purchased. I had all the necessary scrappage documentation ready. I did not pay a deposit. In fact, the salesman did very little, apart from filling the forms and taking my money.

However, many people on this forum appear to be cheesed of by the poor attitude shown by some dealerships. Reading the posts, it seems that most customers understand the pressure that this huge demand has placed on Hyundai and the dealers. The posters are willing to make allowances for this, but what they cannot stand is the sheer disrespect shown towards them by some dealers, initially through not being kept informed, followed by all the ducking and diving. All it needed was a few timely phone-calls.

Apparently, this type of experience is not uncommon. Here is another stick with which to beat the car dealers:

Yes, indeed, welcome to the forum. I think that the words from exatoz are extremely well-chosen and are a true reflection of the current situation. My own i10 was bought under the same circumstances as his, as the salesperson at EMG Cambridge didn't really have much to do, plus they are a very good dealer anyway.

Please do become a regular contributor, isellhyundai, as your views will be appreciated. By the same token, do pass comments from here up the Hyundai chain of command - won't you? We look forward to hearing from you........

Got a call from the dealer this morning (first time he has called me).

Our car is now on a ship docking at Tilbury on 25th Oct!!!!!!!!! What is going on? Yesterday he and Hy CS said the car was on the ship docking
on 2nd Nov.

He explained that our 'order status' keeps changing!

This is doing my head in big time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Phoned the dealer today to be told that our car WASN'T on the ship that docked last Monday 25th Oct but is now due in on the 2nd Nov!!!! ARRGH

Why does it keep changing? Salesman just says the 'status changes all the time'.

Do Hyundai really know where our cars are? Or do they gat allocated at Tilbury?

This is really winding me up!!!!!!

Well I think your take on the delivery situation is interesting, thanks for sticking your head above the parapet.

Would you be prepared to explain to us just what information the guys at the dealerships / franchises actually have access to?

I'm frustrated at getting changing information, and reports that the 'web site has crashed again' which is really starting to sound like "please go away" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Is the information accessed over the web? Is it really that unreliable? Does it really keep changing?

Your answer could take the heat off 'my man' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

4 months is up next week, MOT out and ABS light on (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crying.gif)

Andy

I'm also in the same boat, which clearly isn't the same boat as my i10 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)

I ordered 14th Aug and have just been told its still showing at factory. My MOT ran out weeks ago so my order may be in a spot of bother

I only discovered this Forum this morning - on the one hand I'm pleased that I'm not alone in my long wait for my i10 but it is a bit depressing that so many people are in the same position.
I ordered a black Style on 18 August and was given an approx delivery date of 15 Oct. I have rung the dealer twice since then but the salesman still cannot confirm when the car will be ready for collection. Last week he said it's definitely arrived in the UK but still cannot say when it will arrive at the garage.
Having never owned a Hyundai before I just hope the car is worth the wait.......

Watch this programme and fast forward it to about 17 minutes where they show 4 cars about to be scrapped under the scheme.

The green Toyota Starlet was mine, MY ACTUAL CAR! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

He says it's the most solid car there and a shame to scrap. I agree, it was but couldn't pass up on the opportunity of the £2100 incentive.

I cannot complain about waiting at all!
We wnt to our local dealer (Eastham Motors on the Wirral, with Ian as the salesman) on the 25th of October, signed a order on the 27th October (scrappage deal), and went down yesterday to hand over insurance details for picking up the car this Saturday!!. It arrived in the dealers the other day, and we even had the choice of new plates for it. Just waiting on PDI. No hard sell from the dealer or anything. Right place, right time I think.
Is this a record for delivery or what !!!
Give them a ring if you are after one, they just had some in that did not have plates on or anything. No, i dont work there !!! lol
I shall let the forum know how the car is, and how the dealership was later on.

There is a good chance that this is a cancelled order. The dealer I have ordered one from offered me one as I'm getting very close to the 4 month mark on the scappage deal but as the one I was offered was a lower model and wrong colour I decided to wait.

When we went to the dealer, we had the choice of 4 cars that were due for delivery 'within the next 3 weeks'. One being the exact spec we were thinking of. Maybe we were just lucky.

Very interesting - the i10 I've been waiting almost 3 months for was also ordered from Ian at Eastham Motors !!

MrsP,
Maybe they were cancelled orders for the 4 or so cars they were getting in. Their loss anyway !!! We were going for a red comfort model, and luckily, that is what they had coming in.
The wife is all chuffed about getting her new car (and me to be honest!!).

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

I do hope you don't have too long a wait for delivery but I've been waiting 5 months, ordered a silver i10 Comfort auto on 8th June, and when I phoned my dealer today they said it is now in the country (hopefully they mean the UK!) but it may be another couple of weeks before I get it. I think all the dealers have been inundated with orders and waiting times have been a lot longer than they expected, so we have to be patient. It's just the lack of information that has been so frustrating. From what I've read it'll be worth the wait, everyone seems to like their i10 once they get to drive it. At least my little 20 year old Micra is still going beautifully -- in fact I shall be sad to see it go. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) (

I managed to get mine within 11 days at the end of last month. I would have gotten it within the same time frame probably but we had to wait for the governement to extend the scrappage scheme for our V reg Focus.
