Hi - I ordered an i10 Classic three weeks ago (using an old Seat Arosa under the scrappage scheme) with an estimated delivery date on this week. Now after contacting the dealer, they're now claiming August at the earliest.

Anyone else in a similar situation? I'm a bit gutted and the dealer hasn't been much help (they didn't even contact us to let us know about the delay).

My wife ordered 1.2 comfort over 5 weeks ago and she was told end on July/ August- actually dealer made that clear before order was placed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/excl.gif)

I ordered my i10 on the 25th April and only got last week on the 5th June (after being promised that it would be available on the 18th May) and so far I am delighted with it :-) - I got the same problem: a complete lack of information and it seems it is not the dealers fault but Hyundai own system that doesn't get updated - see here: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/t36409-hyundai-i10-delivery-date-mystery.htm. I was also told while I was investigating this mystery that any Hyundai ordered in May will only be available in August. I hope this helps as I know how frustrating it is to not know exactly when the car will be delivered.

Same issue with my order for a i10 comfort ordered on 12 May.

The dealer has been less than helpful and the Hyundai helpline is not much better.

It was suggested I might receive it by mid June although no promise was made. Now all I get is he has no idea when it will be delivered as it is "at the factory" and until it is shipped the dealer cannot say how long it will take, other than around 6 to 8 weeks once it is on the ship.

My car is due a new MOT in mid July so if I have to spend any money on it, I may have to cancel my order. I cannot do without the car (a 13 year old Corsa 1.2) so I will have no choice. The tax runs out at the end of July.

I cannot understand why they cannot provide a delivery date as they will know how many cars are being made and when the will be completed and ready for shipment.

It's no help to know a friend was able to pick up her Picanto on the 18 May and my sister got her i20 yesterday. They also ordered it on the 12 May.

Ordered in early-May, enquired last week and was told the next ship-load are at sea and are due in Tilbury in late June. Should be delivered to dealerships about 2 weeks later. So that will turn out to be about 10 weeks from order to receipt.

Anyone know what shipping company does the transporting from Chennai to Europe ?

Thanks for all the responses - seems most of you are going to be waiting around the same amount of time. Looks like the dealer was probably just telling us what he thought we wanted to hear.

To be honest if he'd told us August it wouldn't have been a problem as our current car is MOT'd until January - it's more the promising one thing and then you having to chase them up after the date only to be told it'll be at least 6 weeks later now. Guess I shouldn't have expected any better from a Salesman (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .

I will not be much different I guess but ask the dealer. Sometimes they have single models in the stock available "now".

Hi - I ordered a classic ES on 31 May and the salesman said he would contact me within the week to tell me vehical registration and the delivery date. When he didn't call me I got in touch and he said my car wasnt even in the country, he would call me when he had info. No mention of a long wait.
I am really glad I found this forum as there is more info on here than you get from the dealer, after reading all the posts regarding long waits and mystery delivery dates I phoned and asked them to confirm a date.......not likely June might be July, August or September was all the guy would say !

I ordered my i10 in early May. I had originally intended to go for the Classic, however the dealer said there'd be a two month wait at least. The dealer had an ES in stock so I went for it. Not much expensive and with remote central locking, silver metallic paint and colour coded mirrors etc. it was a good deal. And I got the car within two weeks! I love it! I miss the quirky personality of my old Ka but am lovin' the air-con and other features of the i10 more!

Ordered around the 12th May (Day after bank holiday) Collected on the 18th first day of scappage. I10 Style, mpg improving daily as engine runs in, currently 1100 miles. Still as impressed as its a pleasure to drive. I am sure it will be worth your wait.

Hi, I am in birmingham and ordered my i10 classic on june 2nd. I was told 7-8 weeks for delivery. I called the dealer 2 weeks later...to make an enquiry as a new buyer....i was told aug sept delivery. i called back later the same day and asked again....again i was told delivery is usually 7-8 weeks from date of order. it's a waiting game it seems...and no definate date is known.
when i made the order, the sales rep did mention that it will take a few weeks to be delivered but was sure to interject with the words ..."that it may come sooner......but don't say i said so" . well i guess folks.... only time will tell.

i know it's a nice little car. if u managed to testdrive it u would agree too . but anyway...to all other customers who are waiting let's do so with an open mind. i am geting a bit anxious though.
would like to hear if anyone got theirs any sooner than the 7-8 weeks . do keep us posted....ppl!

Car is shipped from India and they have not a clue how long is going to take. There are always possible delays, pirates (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) factory was shut down due to strike (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beathorse.gif) etc. When I ordered my Auris sometime ago they could tell me exact delivery date but the car was manufactured 100miles away in Burnaston- that makes big difference.

I called the dealer again today and said I wanted to know for sure that I had been allocated a car as if not I would cancel and go elsewhere. The man took my number and true to his word he phoned me back a bit later and said that I had indeed been allocated a chasis number and my car was on a boat coming from India and that I should take delivery of it within 3-4 weeks. I thought it was here that I read that a boat was due at the end of June (and that it then took 2 weeks to get them registered) but when I re-read the posts there is no mention...must have been somewhere else. I will keep you posted..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)

The power steering has given up the ghost on my old banger and I am developing arms like popeye!

Just a guess... but I think the next batch of i10s were last seen here:
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/default.a...%204:37:43%20AM

Arrives Tilbury Ro-Ro 21st June as suggested here:

Look out for this:
http://www.shipphotos.co.uk/pages/asianlegend.htm

But this is just speculation. I see it went thru Suez Canal about 12 days ago, so it came from the East.
