Hi, and thanks for reading this.
My daughter's 1998 GLX 5 door twincam excel is having a minor lighting issue.
The reverse lights and the interior light are not working.
Tail, and indicator lights are working no problem.
I've checked the fuses under the hood and on the drivers side but couldn't find anything specifically to do with those two circuits.
I replaced the reverse light globes, but that didn't have any effect. I did notice that there was nothing wrong with the globes I swapped out.
Anyone able to advise me please? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

welcome to the forums (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000732.gif)

its unlikely that the two faults are connected. with regard to the reverse lights you should first check that you have got power going to the switch on the gearbox (use a test light or meter for this) if there is power going to one side of the switch with the ignition switched on you will then need to put the car in reverse and check you have power at the other switch terminal, if not you have a faulty switch (this is not uncommon) did you check the bulb on the interior light?

Thanks for the reply.
i'll check the wires going to and from the reverse switch.
Seeing you've suggested its not uncommon, it'll be worth the effort.
BTW, where is the switch? I assume its on the side of the gearbox. Is this right?
As for the interior light. Well, its the first thing i would have checked before letting my father know I had a problem.
Unfortunately, I am not my child (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .
I'll check that as well.
