QUOTE (pbprj3 @ Jun 29 2009, 01:34 PM) I own a new Black Azera Limitited with 1100 miles. I can't remove bird dropping from it with the acid going through the clear coat and ru iing the paint anyone with the same problem First of all, let me say, you might be better off starting a new thread on this subject, not only in this forum, but other Hyundai forums as well. Second, I personally have never had a problem with bird droppings eating through my clear coat on any of my Hyundais. And...........last but not least, are you using a high quality wax on your car and what brand is it? David <><

QUOTE (david-paul-1 @ Jun 9 2009, 12:48 AM) I truly wish that the USA would build vehicles with the same quality, but with union and Obama involvement, it does not look good for us in the future, in many respects.
David <>< And the past eight years did (IMG: style_emoticons/default/puzzled.gif) . Are you kidding....It feels like Frodo just threw Sauron's ring into the fire, Mordor is vanished, Aragorn has been crowned, the Shire is safe again and middle earth is reunited. I had a telephone conversation with a Hyundai spokesperson Wednesday which was prompted by my completing an on-line survey regarding a recent oil change. In the comments section of the survey I asked if there was going to be a 2010 Azera or not. The verbal response from them was that they had not yet recieved any information on any 2010 Models sans the Genesis Coupe.

Hi I had the same problem with love bugs eating through the clear coat - my regional service manager repainted the hood and problem areas under warranty and it looks better than new. It is hard to believe that paint-clearcoat is not stronger but he said it had to do with the water based paints they have to use now. I must say that i washed off the bugs quickly but in the FL heat and sun it only took minutes to destroy the paint

I guess I was kind of put off by the Azera but only because it had replaced the XG and I truly do love everything about my XG..... so I never considered an Azera and am still running my XG because I don't like the body styles of anything else yet.
While we are talking about Genesis , why did they make it rear wheel drive????
After years of being completely happy with front wheel drive, I was surprised when they did this... It got me to think back when I last drove a rear wheel drive and the snow etc,,,,,,, I don't ever want to return to that.

The 2010 Azera change its name to Grandeur. The Korean site shows the new 2010 model. It is in Korean, but you can find info by brosing the pages: http://www.hyundai.com/ShowRoom/ShowRoom.a...ur&types=01There are 7 trims and 3 engines to choose: I4 2.4 179/23.5, V6 2.7 195/25.6 and, V6 3.3 259/32.2. Long live the Azera/Grandeur. rdru

It got me to think back when I last drove a rear wheel drive and the snow etc,,,,,,, I don't ever want to return to that. When the Genesis is equipped with the V8, it is a true high performance sedan. And, no one wants a performance sedan with front wheel drive. It is too hard to control with over steer and has too much wheel slip. They are also impossible to put into a controlled slide. As far as driving in the snow, and believe me, I had plenty of experience in just that, the only cars I felt were efficient were front wheel, low performance, skinny tired low end models. I am only talking about cars, not monster four wheel trucks. I believe the largest market for the Genesis is in the warmer parts of the U.S. where snow is not a typical problem, although, with chains or good quality snow tires, I am sure the Genesis would do better than average due to its weight. By the way, have you ever driven a high performance vehicle with rear wheel drive? What was the last rear wheel drive vehicle you did own? David <><

However, the main difference is an LPG engine. http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mellor.nsf...A2575E50015389ENothing in the Azera line is being considered for the U.S. market for 2010, as far as I know. David <>< I guess my viewpoint came from an average guy driving an average car....... Nope never had the chance to drive a high performance vehicle at all.... HMMMM let's see,,,, that would probably be a 73 Olds Cutlass Supreme as my last rear wheel drive..... Had either 4 wheel drive or front drive ever since........ Guess I should be a bit open minded about it, looks like quite a few models are going back to rear wheel ...... Hey if the snow gets too bad, I could always borrow my wife's 4 wheel drive truck..... LOL

QUOTE (rdru @ Jul 12 2009, 05:09 PM) The 2010 Azera change its name to Grandeur. You can be forgiven for not knowing this, but the Azera has always been known as the Grandeur in its home market. In fact, you can buy replacement taillight center trim that spells out "Grandeur" as a replacement for the American OEM red panel that says "Azera".

QUOTE (heypal @ Jul 17 2009, 11:41 AM) I see the Genesis models are not selling as well as Hyundai expected here in the U.S. With tough times the consumer is looking a value and the Genesis is in the high end catagory. Yet Azera is an well priced car with value. One would think the Azera or the now Granduer model would be a good choice at the present time. The SUV line along with Sonata and the smaller car like offered by Hyundai is doing very well in sales. My limited understanding is that the Genesis is doing better than a lot of other luxury nameplates; the Acura RL, for example, is doing really pitiable numbers. It's all about price right now. You can steal even a late-model used Lexus LS430 for as little as 20 grand. People just won't pay for the big plushy stuff.

According to the Hyundai Think Tank a few months ago, there will be a 2010 Azera. However, sales person at my local dealer said he wished they had some Azeras to sell. Lots and lots of Sonatas and four Genesis'. Acura RL has never sold well. Too small, too expensive, too boring, etc. I could have gotten one for 10K off list and turned it down. All expensive cars are losing sales right now due to the economy. Genesis sales are probably down not only because of the economy but also because the pent up demand has been satisfied. It is an extremely well equipped car at a very good price, but it is still a Hyundai and rebadging it won't change that. The main problem I see with hyundai is they develop a new car or bring a new car to America and then two-three years later abandon it. Examples: Azera, Vera Cruz, Genesis Sedan. Their new toy is the Genesis coupe and they are getting ready to drop it in favor of the Equus. They have the Korean version of the Equus touring the US now trying to build a demand for it. Meanwhile, they still have not fixed the problems that have surfaced on the Azera, Genesis and maybe others. BTW, it you do not have a suspension problem on your Azera, you are very, very lucky or you don't realize it. I drove a rental Elantra with 30K miles on it last week and it did not bounce/porpoise or wallow. Amazing!!!! Hyundai's inability to admit the Azera suspension problem and correct it will keep me out of a Genesis even with a big discount.
