no drilling . I just stick the wire with electric tape to the door and put the door panel over it .
I used that rubber booth for electric mirror wires ,because you need too take two wires from mirror to the inside of the car . but for this just pass the wire that comes from the turn signal in between the door panel and door metal body .I take picture for you today .

thanks - the reason why i am asking is cause i have a broken mirror and i would love to change it for led ones but i when i was working on our elantra to put power locks on it i found out that at the end of that rubber booth there is a plastic connector and no room for any wires - i am wondering is there any connector in sonata - inside the car? or is it just the booth that you can shoot the wires - and no connectors at the end of booth

Well I explained it on the photo .
There is a connector on sonata too ,but leave the plastic booth alone.
just take couple of wires from the turn signal don't take them to the inside of the plastic booth just tie it to from out side or not .and pass it in between the door panel and the door metal body .check out the picture , you'll understand what I mean .

ok that is the turn signal part how about the power and switch wires to make this mirror fold? they need to go inside the car right? how can i route those? it might be dumb question but i ended up drilling hole in elantra - that i did not mind cause i got that car to be an every day car but i don't want to drill anything in sonata cause its my baby (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

well ,you just asked for the turn signal .

folding mirror wires are different story . you gotta have to take couple of wires from passenger side to the driver side and to the inside of the driver door ,if you want to use the switch .

I took two really really thin wires and passed it through the plastic booth then passed aside with the connector .

you know taking out the plastic booth was easy ,putting it back was a real pain . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crying.gif) you can't see anything in there and there is not enough space to put your hand . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

that's the problem there ,I didn't take the connector out ,maybe if you take it out you could some how modify it or add those wires to the connector if it's possible ,it would be plug and play after that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

before i decide to buy those mirrors i have one more question - is there any way to disable to folding after you press lock button? i think for winter its not that great idea if they fold and than i would open the car and they would not come back to unfold position - last year i had few days that i could not open my malibu door and i had to use some force to crush the ice - would not like to do that with folded mirror :/

That's a classy, luxurious addition to the car, I like it.
