Hi Guys,

I got these blinker kit through "Korean auto impots" shipped direcly from Korea to me .I liked them better than those on the back of the mirror cover.

These seemed more stock looking to me . and they are cheaper. they cost around 50 bucks .

installing them wasn't pain at all you need take that black cover at buttom of mirror out and replace them with these.and of course run a wire from the blinker on

the fender to these .

I took some pictures ,check 'em out .

Looking good, arash.

That doesn't work for North American Sonata's though. First, we don't have the folding mirrors over here. Second, we don't have the "Euro" turn signals on the quarter panels (though we could tap into the turn signals some other way).

Those look ver nice dude. Good job. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)
They look completeley oem and not cheap or tacky.
Also, I noticed that your side mirrors seem to have the aspherical wide angle part to it. Is that standard on all Sonatas in your country or did you buy those aftermarket as well?

Those look very nice!

Yeah, for some reason Hyundai didn't think that America needed folding mirrors on their Sonatas.
We are the only ones who don't have them.

I would think it would be cheaper to have just one version of the mirror instead of making two different kinds.

So for us we have to buy the folding mirrors also which adds to the price of this modification.

Thanks guys . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

I was wondering why wouldn't they put Folding mirrors on US sonatas . I don't know maybe because the roads over there are wide enough so you wouldn't have any trouble with your mirrors .

I know coulple of websites (Korean Websites) that might sell second hand and new folding mirrors .let me see If I can find 'em.

I have a couple of sources for them and it will be something to upgrade in the future.

Most roads are wide enough here but you still have parking issues or hitting something with your non folding mirrors sticking out.

I've seen Sonata aspherical lens more and more lately so I may also upgrade this as well.

Thanks!

We have to change side mirrors first for side mirror blinkers.
I plan to change whole side mirror soon when I got whole assembly.

Here is the website I got my electric actuators for my mirrors ,they sell the whole Electric folding mirror too (which I should get in the first place (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) ) .but they are second hand.which IMO it doesn't matter as long as they work .

see if you can get the "koran auto imports" to order it for you.it really worth it . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/57.gif)

Well - The european model also have the folding mirrors.
In my opinion: if you need to use them for parking purpose - then you all too close... - I never use mine - I prefer, if possible to park all alone to avoid dents and scratches from careless drivers...
Just my humble opinion...

I guess the point i made was lost in translation or something. Its not that i need them for parking, its not that i aim to park close to others. Its when you park your car, with empty spots around you and you come back to find other cars parked very close to you. Sometimes this can result in your mirrors kissing for lack of a better term.

Also, what do you think happens when an object hits a non folding mirror? It will rip it right off your car.... This was the point I was making. And my desire to have folding mirrors would be something I would like since its my car and all.....

I had the folding mirrors added to my Sonata a few weeks ago. Several weeks ago my beloved 16 year old daughter tried to sneak between a median and a stopped pick up truck to merge into a left and turn lane and she clipped the rear bumper of the pick up with the right front fender and door of my Sonata, which took the mirror off. The insurance company estimated the OEM replacement mirror at $170 and Korean Auto imports sell the OEM folding mirrors for about the same price so I bought the folding mirrors and had the body shop do the install while fixing my car.

So for me, adding the blinkers will be easy. Also, the writing on the passenger-side mirror that says objects are closer than they appear is written in Korean, kind of cool I think. I also think the folding mirrors are a slightly different shape then the OEM non-folding mirrors. I can't compare because I did not want my original non damaged drivers side mirror back.
