THanks for the reply hystat

Iam in BC so a fair distance from you but glad to hear from a fellow canuck. How willing do u think the dealership is going to be in giving me the factory code or do u know if there is some way around dealing with them. Also thanks for looking for the ECM as my excel will once again be a sweet ride if i can get my hands on one.

the radio code should be no problem. All you need to do is to install the radio, then press and hold the #4 button, and switch the radion on. A bar-code will appear, which represent a number, and with it I can get the code.

Thanks for having a look for me doc its greatly appreciated.

Duke the reason i know that my sensors are all reading incorrect is one day i could bearly turn the car over and once i did i had to adjust the idle up, so not knowing what the hell happened i took it to the mechanic and he put it on the diagnostic and told me that all my sensors were reading wacky like a temp sensor was reading -48 degrees farenheit and that everything other seemed to read wrong (he gave me more examples i just dont remember them). So mechanic figured it was the ecm and thats what i have been going off of, the only problem is that the only place i can seem to find one is the dealer and i would rather tough it that get hosed like that.

-48°F indicates an faulty coolant temperature sensor or circuit. If you disconnect the temp-sensor and jump the 2 terminals, then the temp read out must be HOT HOT; then you know that the circuit is OK and the sensor is gone. This would explain the high fuel consumption.
