Congrats on the purchase! Sean1k2 might be right unless your Azera is brand new. Believe it or not - there aparently are some new 08s still around as can be seen in the cars.com link. How many miles did it have on it?

Yes, I know I overpaid - but I'm in San Jose, and did not want to pay shipping or drive many hours.

Arghh, the super duper audio package won't play CDs right - every 20 seconds or so, the volume of the CD goes to 25% for about half
a second, then comes right back - on CDs that play right on any other car stereo or computer. Arghh.

Could it be the speed sensitive volume control that is built in the the system that you are experiencing?

The Decibel level will auto adjust for road and engine noise at higher speeds.

Sometimes, if the bass level is too high it may get fooled into dropping the volume. You know the bass level is too high when your hair moves for seemingly no reason. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grin.gif)

I get that too, but it's only on MP3s, and only certain MP3s at that. Are you listening to regular CDs or MP3 CDs? I thought it might have something to do with the sampling rate on the MP3... but that's an explanation, not an excuse. It's annoying as ****. And it just so happens that the ONE MP3 album that does it is one of my favorites of all time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Funny - as soon as I tried "Fast Forward" on a CD, the problem vanished. Still wondering if I should
take it to a dealers when I can't reproduce the problem now.

Take EVERY problem/concern to the dealer and insist on getting a work order. Make sure you read what dealer said and what he said you said before accepting your copy.
BTW, the audio has a shorter warranty than the rest of the car. If you did not get an actual warranty brochure listing the lengths for various components, call the Hyundai customer service center. The brochure for my 07 did not come with the car, but was mailed a month or so later.
There is no 5 year/50,000 mile "bumper to bumper" warranty.

Good luck with your car.
