I've recently bought a hyundai i30 hatch. I'm thinking about getting a towbar fitted and a towbar mounted cycle rack for 3/4 bikes. The thing is, I haven't got a clue where to start and what the cost would be. Don't want to fit it myself.

I would prefer a detachable type so it looks neat when not in use (vain).

All advice re make of bars, equipment required (adapters/electrics), fitting costs, suitable tried and tested carriers (tilting ones look good so boot can open without detaching) would be very welcome. Can my hyundai carry 4 bikes this way or is it too much? Does fitting the towbar affect my 5 yr hyundai warranty?

thanks.

Hi number9.

This has been done (with photos) by someone recently on the i30ownersclub forum, including the tilting jobby. Don't want to steal his thunder by copying his post here, so if you bomb on over there (link in my sig) you might get some idea of how it's done (and may even then prefer to do it yourself (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif) )

Looked at the pics and this is looks good. It looks like an Aussie site. I'm looking for some idea of UK prices and good fitters (all done under one roof would be better).

Any info/anyone done this...

Well I'm glad the pics looked ok to you - I mentioned it so you could get an idea of what's possible.

As for dealers in the UK, yep I'm afraid you'll have to wait for your answer...

(PS.. i30ownersclub is not an Aussie forum, it's multinational. It's just that the i30 has taken off phenominally over there so they have more of the membership)

Hi, I am thinking of doing the same, but couldn't find the link to the images - any chance you could re-post them? And did you happen to find somewhere and info on prices in the UK?
Thanks!
