The wife and I currently have (2) 2002 Elantras that have served us well. I will be keeping mine for a while but am considering replacing hers with either a Elantra Touring or a Tuscon 4 cylinder
Initially, in 2002, the wife had a Santa Fe, V6, and really loved it. She especially liked the "sitting high" attitude but didnt like the frequent stops at gas stations and the severe tinting in the rear windows as it was horrible trying to back it up at nite.
Just wondering how those with Tuscon's like their vehicles and if they have an issues they dont like.
Appreciate any input

We are currently leasing a 2005 Tucson V6, automatic, all-wheel drive, and we highly recommend it. With about 86,000 km on the clock, apart from some minor problems, the Tucson has been very reliable. We plan to buy the Tucson at the end of the lease in 2010. It drives well and is very stable on the road (the controls and driving experience are very Toyota-like). I love the high driving position and find the seat fully supports my legs and is excellent for long-distance driving. I'm 6ft and my wife is 5ft, we find the seat fits us both. The rear seats are also very good for adults, we were initially considering a Toyota RAV4 (we've owned multiple Toyota's for many years) but our teenage children told us that the rear seats were not very comfortable; they had no issues with the rear seats in the Tucson. We were initially concerned with the small cargo space, but with multiple long trips over the past 4 years, including a few with our small dog and his cage, we've never had any issues with the lack of cargo space.

The wife has had an '07 Tuscon V6 for a year and a half, now with about 16K miles on it. We have had one - ONE - warranty issue, a CD stuck in the radio. Aside from that, the car has been faultless. It was our first experience with Hyundai (I now have a used '01 Santa Fe which replaced a Kia that was wrecked last September), and we have been extremely impressed with the design and build quality. People who ride in it often say, "This is a Hyundai???"

The only negative is the gas consumption, but she has a slightly heavy foot. The trip computer shows steadily improving mileage when I drive it, a fact that she has a problem with, but ... oh, well ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)

Bought our Tucson CRDi engine last April 28 of this year.. This is our first time owning a korean car brand since we've been accustomed to Japanese suv brands.. The only comment i have is why our '09 Tucson doesn't have any temperature gauge installed.. If the vehicle is about to overheat or is about to reach 120++ centigrade, a temperature signal light will warn the driver (as what the manual said).. I think its impractical not having a temperature gauge installed since we're not gonna be able to know if an overheat is about to happen.. Right? Ride quality is ok.. Suspension is kinda stiff at the back and i noticed a bit of body roll.. fuel consumption is good.. City driving is around 9 to 10 kms/L and Highway is about 12Kms/L. Combined city and highway is around 11 kms/L.

The Tucson is due for replacement in 2010 or possible into 2011 and so the prices/values will depreciate even by todays hard decreases so if you want the current model thats fine but as for buying new I personally wouldn't do that till the new model comes out.
2009 model has no temp guage in the european/phillapine tucsons so most folk are buying a scan guage to ensure that that part of the sensoring equipment is covered.

I am on my 2nd model since 2004 when they came out and I am pleased with mine and with the consumption but then I have a diesel engine (4 cyl 1991cc) I wouldn't even consider the 6cy petrol model sold in the US and even the US will find that this engine will be changed to the 4cyl model in the future as the US are trying to cut emissions and reduce fuel useage.

Cheers
Itza
